firstly... this is not meant as an attack on any race group...
ONLY RECENTLY I MADE THIS OBSERVATION: BLACK PEOPLE WOULD START A TREND OR SUBCULTURE, BUT THEY ARE NOT THE ONES TO "REALLY" PROFIT FROM IT... OR BECOME THE ONES RESPONSIBLE FOR ITS SURVIVAL AND LONGEVITY.
CURRENT EXAMPLES ARE:
MANDOZA - MAD TALENTED EX-B.BOY TURNED KWAITO DIAMOND.. NO MATTER HOW TALENTED HE IS, GABI LE ROUX OWN THE RIGHTS TO HIS MUSIC.
HOUSE AFRIKA - THE FIRST THING U PICTURE WHEN U HEAR HOUSE AFRIKA IS "DJ DA VINCI". YET TIM WHITE OWN THE LABEL.
YFM - THE BIGGEST REGIONAL RADIO STATION; MADE FAMOUS BY "THE STUFF THAT BLACK PEOPLE SAY AND DO". BUT RUN BY DIRK HARTFORD.
HIPHOP ON THE INTERNET - THE KUSH.CO.ZA SITE SAYS ROZZANO IS THE "LEGENDARY" DJ WHO WAS THERE WHEN HIPHOP EMERGED IN THE 80´S.THERE´S ALSO READY D, EMILE YX AND A HOST OF OTHERS.. BUT THE PEOPLE LEADING THE DIGITAL REVOLUTION IN HIPHOP ARE MILKDADDY AND Ma** DOSAGE.
THE SAME CAN BE SAID FOR THE CAPE COMEDY COLLECTIVE. DEF JAM RECORDS. STREET PROMOTIONS IN THE USA. CCP RECORS IN JOZI.
does this mean that blacks are lazy or does it mean that we live in a 100% global village where it doesn´t matter who does what and who gets paid off who´s back?

You get lazy muthaf***ers in every race.
race has nothing to do with it.
it just happens that some of the people we see are white.
so what. what about Russell Simmons and Master P? They are black.
but if you talking about south africa, there´s a lot of black folks running shit on the net. you just don´t hear about them, same way you don´t hear about those white people you mentioned.
sometimes it´s the black people doing all the work, the white man just gives the $´s and views it just as an investment.

i do not own a copy of the book... but on a recent trip to the holy city of johannesburg i managed to spend two lengthy sessions at the coffee & bookshop opposite YFM in Rosebank and read the entire book...
another observation... i dusted off my copy of FUNKADELIC´s "Connections and Disconnections" last night.. and really enjoyed listening to it again...
two things came up whilst doing this... i realised that FUNKADELIC must be Jamiroquai´s single biggest musical influence... and JK is a whiteboy that is hailed Mr. Funk in European music circles...
according to the album cover.. a gentleman named Jerry Goldstein is the executive producer... (whom we all know REALLY cashes in on projects)
so in part i concluded that YES black folk have been getting screwed since the dayz of wayback... i´m not saying they´re lazy... and whiteboys are not in any way smarter...
i guess that´s just the way it is... some things will never change..
