Title: Do You Support Bush´s Quest To Go To War With Iraq?
Post by: milk on January 29, 2003, 11:59:00 PM
Let me know what´s on your mind.

Let me know what your answer is and also give your reasons.

My answer is:  I oppose war
My reasons are simple:  Bush is ugly, he wants the oil, Iraq does not pose a threat to America or the World.  Children and Woman shouldn´t die for oil.

Let me know where you stand.

THANKS

"Iraq is no threat to the world" well I am not sure about that one. I do not trust any country that has(or might have) nuclear weapons.
Some of you might know about the Baby Babylon missile launcher that was aimed in the direction of Israel.

But definitely there is something very wrong with the US´s beef with the oil-rich country. First they said that they want to attack because Iraq will not let UN-Inspectors in the country but now that Iraq suprised everyone and done this, they say that they still have reasons, unknown to us, to attack.

Interestingly France and Germany do not want a war. France wants to resume trade with Iraq as soon as possible. Russia also opposses war because Saddam owes about them 8billion dollars. I am not sure where South Africa stands on this issue.

We are definitely in the new world order, the US just bullies every one around. Tony Blair is the yes boy.

Hiphop & the War?
I heard Krs on the wakeupshow saying that America should attack if chemical are proved to exist in Iraq. His argument was that he feels that some people hate America, so they should defend themselves.
I have not heard from other "hiphop activists" such as PE, or XClan. How are the emcees in South Africa adressing the issue? The Djs?

With the greatest respect to you I have to disagree.  You say that you don´t trust any country with nuclear weapons.  Well guess who has the most?  America.

That´s every reason not to trust America on this.

But I agree with you that the French and Russia opposing have their own business interests at heart.

A friend told me that America and Iraq are both wrong.

I´m not sure about that but I think the best way is for both of those countries to step off, chill and relax and work something out around the table before they both destory this world we live in.

that´s my two cents.

I agree. Although it may seem like I was being lenient towards the US, I am definitely not their supporter. They are the nucleus of most of the world problems. We all know that, its a fact. I was just pointing out the issues around this main issue. I also mentioned the Krs-1 comment to show how American citezens are so confused. Is it propaganda?
But more worringly, is what are the other countries doing about it. And does hiphop have a role?

I also wonder, if america does attack what will be their target. Will it be somewhere the inspectors have not checked? and where is that place?

What will there future be? Are niggas ready?

It´s all good. I agree, it can be confusing coz there´s a lot of confusion.  I mean if people are watching cnn then it´s easy for them to think that america is right.  It all depends on what side of the fence people sit on.

and I think there is a lot of propaganda from both sides.  However the main point is, this is all about oil.

Even afghanisatan, there´s that Caspian Sea shit that needs to make it to the world market and there´s only one way through - Afghanistan.

I just hope this doesn´t become a full blown war where every country is pulled in.

The best we can do is hope that people act proper and not make foolish mistakes.

PS South Africa´s position is that the US and UK should give the inspectors more time so that they can have the chance to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that their are either or no weapons of ma** destruction.

Thabo Mbeki is meeting with Tony Blair next week to discuss this I think.

Who can we trust in this world?

Nobody I suppose.

But let me get back to one of your questions.  It was very interesting that you asked and I quote "And does hiphop have a role? "

I think we do have a role to play but many of us don´t realise it.  Think about this very seriously.  How many hip hop heads are there in this world?

Now ask yourself this question.  How many hip hop heads are there in America?

Now check this,

surprise surprise,

Jesse Jackson, a politician,

embraces hip hop

that is a smart move.

but can we trust his motivations?

or is he looking for a huge vote?

am I just talking shit here?

who knows. :-]

I know the future for you: A war for every year of cowboy Bush´s presidency. Last year Afghanistan, this year Iraq, next year (insert terrorist friendly country here). Cape Town and Pagad better watch out.
