i can't hold this back any longer... I'm officially a Ben Sharpa groupie. I know he doesn't surf this forum so its fine.

On a serious note, Ben Sharpa gave a very good performance and his music has the stuff of longevity and his interaction with the audience was strong...

Thanks to Natutelle for taking my boring 27 year old out to the Red Bull thing and gig after...
Hi REARRANGED!

General Discussion / DEATH OF GRAHAMSTOWN MC
« on: March 25, 2008, 11:05:21 AM »
Grahamstown's hip-hop community is shocked and angry at the fatal stabbing of the talented MC, Creeper. He was barely 20 and his crime was walking a femaale friend home at night. He was one of the more talented wordsmiths in grahamstown and its sad that another young person who's overcome so many odds had to go like this.
He bled to death on the streets because we don't have a functional emergency response system in grahamstown.
His death just leaves me cold. Its not clear what the motive was but it doesn't seem like they were robbed. He was stabbed through the heart.

Where to black people... at this rate... where to????

she looks like a naked black person to me... it wasn't very striking... i thought that was the point... a naked person is a naked person...
since nakedness makes us vulnerable.. she's saying... no need to be vulnerable... no need to prey on the vulnerable...

besides ... come to KZN... women still bath in rivers and there's no marie claire photogographer to make it seem special...

she just looks normally naked that's how i see her...

i've got the mag. she's the only full frontal...

the thing is, im registering for a doctrate at uct so im officially also a student...

but i just haven't been one in a long time... and then of course, there i was wondering around uct in o-week, with no oweek buddies, no excited chatter, no overdressed self, no big eyes astounded by all the new and shiny things, no res, no pseudo-intellectual curiosity, no o-week gig guide, no cool things to say, no lying on the lawns...

Hi,

I have moved to Cape Town. But I'm visiting KZN (home) and the EC till 1 March. I found a flat in rondebosch just up from the main shopping area which is overrun with students. I think i'll be doing capoeira in mowbray. But i need to find more people to meet. So maybe if there's events, let me know about them...
my email's wena_wasembo@yahoo.com

She is going to be the water you drink, the air you breathe, the veggies you eat, the ocean you swim, the soil you walk on, the fish you look at...
over and over and over again...

and so will you too...

that's the beauty of the cycle...

Much of the music industry is based on illusions and fantasies.

Selwyn's got a sound job instead of living this lie that is the south african music industry, pretending the glamour is real.

ITS JUST MEDIA FANTASY... even people who play cla**ical instruments have to work other jobs to keep their music pa**ion going on the side... orchestras are not well funded.

We all know very few people make tons of money.

you gotta just do music to add to the creative voice of the coutry, not to buy into the fake glamour.

Can people just not see that ITS FAKE? Selwyn can.

Got my planetary a**ault...

And its all hot traxx!! I mean, I speak with the mind of someone who knows only a little about hip hop, so if I'm happy it means its really good.
I'm very very happy!

The beats are great. The artists are interesting and so diverse, but in a non-boring way.

I didn't know what to expect, but it is on the cutting edge of new hip hop sound in S.A. and its viby without patronising the listener. meaning, its viby without cheesy HOOKS...

X likes it too.

okay bye. see you all in cape town since im moving there.
