Media / SNOOP ARRESTED IN LONDON
« on: April 28, 2006, 08:37:18 AM »
thought it was very funny, Snoop being stopped by the BP and it would only happen in south africa!

in any case i was at the concert last night, thought it was aright, even though he wasn't there.

rumour has it though that Snoop turned up just after Sean Paul set but there was no one to intro him.

also heard that he'll be doing another concert in jhb to make up for last night.
 :D

heard on the news that after JZ spread the word about anti- aids showers, aids help lines were getting hectic calls from people who wanted to know if showers really help.

Then i heard a statement fomr the health minister blaming the media, she feels the media blew up the thing and if the infection rate increases it's thier fault. Im sure she wants garlic with that sack of rotten african potaotes for brains.

I think the problem is faith. Promoter have no faith in the hiphop line-ups that hook up. Also they don't seem to like the hip hop crowd- something about bieng rough and what not. Bull shit i say!

why so harsh? Saw her on O-Boma a while back, got few seconds of her. she's not so bad, i really have heard worse. She's 999 (Aurther's) hip hop try out. Wonder what's going to happen from here, after Speedy and Ishmail moved to 999 they bomed, big time so i gues the next move to have a female rapper. can always trust him to ride the wave.

Looks lik these HYPE compilations have devolved from the snapshot of SA hip hop they were intially (Vol 1 is still the best!) to a compilation of Fungayi's fave songs of the moment..

that's the truth right there

I don't know what you guys thought but from reading the posts that were going on with Mr. hype, I could see that nothing would change. It's a pity that shit is ruled by the corprates in the world and hip hop has become a commodity to sell. Forget that hip hop has been around for ages, right now it's popular and the right way to sell anything they want. The magazine is just an extension of the hypocracy that is going and until something else pops up to take it's place, a rich and diverse culture is going to be dictated to, analysed and given insane boundaries. For me, we are united in our diversity and that is what hip hop is.
