General Discussion / Explicit and Kid Ex are not the same person
« on: February 16, 2009, 05:02:24 PM »
Sup AG

I just wanted to clear something up cause the dear Rabbi became a victim of this and I feel for him since bandwidth is expense.

Kid EX and myself (Explicit aka Nick Explicit aka Ex aka Who Knows?) are not the same person so that blow up track has nothing to do with me.

I just thought I should clear this up before you get upset with me for uploading crap!

General Discussion / One moment changes a life
« on: November 17, 2008, 10:56:23 AM »
I don't normally do this but just wanted to find out if I was the only one in the same situation. Just yesterday I was at a petrol station and ran into a dude I had matriculated with. Now last time I saw this dude was back in 2004 when we got our matric results. We stood around talked shit and then split in different directions not knowing what we wanted to do with our lives or where the road of fate was going to take us. Now as you know not everyone in your cla** is your close friend who you joked with but everyone knows everyone and at one point in your high school career you must have spoke to everyone in the cla**. So anyway back to me talking to this dude at the petrol station, So I ask him whats he doing at a f***ing caltex and yet he got a distinction in science and maths, so the dude replies that he is saving money for his studies to do some chemical degree in some shit that will land him a job working for Anglo mining and shit. At that moment I was impressed like wow there's another dude from my school that is working his a** off to make something of his life. The sad part is that not all the dudes that I matriculated with have a success story, matter of fact its a handful of people who have done anything with there lifes. I attended Highlands North Which was a stones throw away from Alexandra and alot of people would have blamed the geographical location of my school on its sucess rate, but truth is we has rich dumb a**es from Sandton who had everything but were dumb as f*** or just plan lazy. My point is as we were talking he told me that one dude who was in my geography cla** got 27 years for armed robbery. This is the same person who I sat next in an exam and he was an average D student. Then another dude is in for murder and is surving life! is this normal? and the list go's on!

My question is what drives a person to do this? How could someone just wake up one morning and decide that this is what i want out of life! Is this normal or did I just go to a school filled with outlaws and criminals?

Sup Ag people

I have challenged Beatoven to a marthon download on www.loadtheshow.com . The rules are simple the first person to get to the number 1 spot on both the top 20 and top 50 chart will win. But that person must remain in the number 1 spot for atleast two days straight to be declared the winner.Below are the two links: please download wisely and support local hip-hip,Spread the word!

Yes it Official my website is on its way, so far all I got is the landing page. Unlike most websites in S.A I dont plan on buying a template and then just add stuff (Sup Crasckboys).

Its going to be part flash and part html, the orignal intention was to make it all flash but the internet in S.A is to slow to handle such a site.

Have a look drop your thoughts and in bout 2 or 3 weeks it will be up and running.

Hip Hop Events / Underground? Event?
« on: June 05, 2008, 11:33:48 AM »
Okay im seriously confused, what is it about this party that will make me pay R80 or R130 for VIP? Okay I get the point of there being dance groups but a HHP and Edgars music series doesnt cost this much and you get like 5 top artist for less, also add like R50 to the VIP and you got a ticket for an international artist.

Anyone heard of the DJ's?

Help ! should I go or should I skip this one?

General Discussion / Y-mag Review on Channel O Battle africa
« on: May 13, 2008, 09:27:28 AM »
I bought the recent Y-mag and ran part this article or review at the back of the mag. Might I add there has been alot of speculation about this event and judgement blah blah blah anyway check it out !

The Ultimate hip-hop Diss...
"It's an unwritten fact that when an art form whose roots are embedded on the streets is dusted off and thrown on some corporate red carpet (either to stamp credibility on a brand that purports to be street conscious or,better still, a channel that brands itself a custodian of youth culture) the result is usually as limp as Hugh Hefner without his viagra."

"So,when the hype around the much publicised channel o, sprite Emcee africa search climaxed at THe Pyramid in downtown Jozi, expectation was a full house of hip-hop heads to welcome the king of the big six countries that were battling each other. Hmm The handful of people milling around resembled a pauper's burial, and three hours past the kick off time of 6pm, this was the first sign of a host taking its guests and its brand for granted."

"Now,the first thing that confused me was why a continental event of this magnitude has attracted a crowd of under 80 people when a HHP event pulls in hundreds at the ba**line. Is there some kind of disease a**ociated with channel O (Hey, their annual video Award turned into a bit of a joke)?Seriously, how does a continental competition involving six countries pa** for some pedestrian street cipher publicised by word of mouth? If this search took place over a couple of months, was this its deserved climax?"

Whether ot was bad budgets or poor publicity, I felt this event was given the step-child treatment: at the end of the day, TV won , But real hip-hop was left sprawled on the floor asking "what tha......?"

any comment?  :-\
