Hot Traxxx / Verses that are ahead of their time
« on: October 20, 2008, 03:15:26 PM »
I was listening to one of the most influencial hip hop albums, Fugees the score and could not get over how dope Lauren Hill was on this offering.

I personally feel this short but potent verse was way ahead of the times, content, flow and delivery. If I was a member of the fugees I would have probably put the mic down after hearing her drop this verse.

Feel free to post verses that you think were or are ahead of their time.

Fugees, The Beast lyrics, from the album The Score

Conflicts with night sticks
Illegal sales districts,
Hand-picked lunatics, keep poli-TRICK-cians rich
Heretics push narcotics amidst its risks and frisks,
Cool cliques throw bricks but seldom hit targets
Private-DIC sell hits, like prono-flicks do chicks.
The 666 cut W.I.C. like Newt Gingrich SUCKS DICK

The Office / Steven Bantu Biko
« on: September 12, 2007, 12:12:53 PM »
Heita!

Today we will be commemorating the life of a revolutionary visionary, A man who gave his life trying to get black people to realize that the minute you emulate a white person, you insult the intelligence of the God that made you black, A man that came with a cry that one can never be free without emancipating the mind first. A man that made it very clear that whites could never stand side by side with a black man and fight issues that affect the black man, because no matter how hard a white person can want to be of a**istance to a black mans cause, he will never fully understand the black man’s situation.

Decades after Bantu Steven Biko’s brutal murder, his teachings are still relevant today, now, maybe more than ever, so bafethu I urge you to just take a moment today to think about this intellect who has inspired and taught many great thinkers who are thriving today as leaders and captains of industry, without the Honorable Biko, some of our black sisters would still be “straightening” their hair and using all sorts of “lightening” creams, because they sub-consciously believe, that their genetic make-up is inferior to that of their caucasian counterparts…in times like these I recall when Mr Biko made a resounding statement addressing student leaders from Saso….”Black man you are on your own”

“You can shackle the hands of men, you can shackle the feet of men, but, you cannot shackle the minds of men” ….Marcus Garvey

“The most potent weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed” ….Bantu Steven Biko

Hot Traxxx / Y doesnt Krook'd drop an album
« on: January 16, 2007, 09:22:25 AM »
Krook'd da womanga is one of the best udergroung emcees mzantsi has to
offer, he's up there with likes of Hueman (RIP), Ben Sharpa, Breeze etc.

This is one of the best lyricists of our time with evergreen rhymes like " This is ill delivery, like having a**istance from an evil midwife"

"got more supporters than corsets"

With his own flow to go with his unbelivable rhymes.

If anyone has information on how to get more of his material or if he has
an album I dont know about please do share!
