"Watkin Tudor Jones (previously of Max Normal) is ready with his much-awaited, new big rap album, 'The Fantastic Kill', to be launched at the Michaelis School of Fine Art in Cape Town in a one-night mega-event on Friday June 3rd. Watkin is also exhibiting artworks in the Michaelis Gallery and short videos from his new DVD, followed by a live performance.
The album, Fantastic Kill, with music by DJ F**k, features the number one smash-hit single, 'Super Evil'. The duo has toured extensively abroad, performing at many big concerts alongside such acts as the Beastie Boys, Wu-Tang Clan, Tricky and the Ping-pong Bitches as well as collaborating live on stage with Blackalicious and Nelly Furtado. Watkin is also the founder of Fantastic Kill Entertainment, a ‘pop terrorist organisation’ that specializes in music, movies and merchandise.
In addition to ‘The Fantastic Kill’ album launch, the mega-event includes an art exhibition featuring Watkin's soft toy range 'Animals' and short film screenings from Watkin's new DVD, 'You don't have to be Evil to be cool'. The evening peaks with a real tough show featuring Watkin Tudor Jones and DJ F**k live in action, alongside VJ's Inka and Neon Demon, with special guest performances by Spoek Mathambo, Mr Sakitumi and international act Jakobson. Tickets for the live concert are R40 or R30 in advance from Scar, Tel: (021) 422 5900.
Fantastic Kill toys, posters and albums will be on sale plus Watkin’s new 'Super Evil' Fantastic Kill Puma t-shirts. Brett Bellinger, marketing manager of PUMA South Africa, says: “Waddy epitomizes the PUMA Brand - he is controversial, edgy and unpredictable. His professionalism, attention to detail and homegrown style separates him from other acts and we are extremely happy to be a**ociated with him and this project.”
