Well for me its local cats who talk ish but aint achieved or sold no real units and dis those that have instead of learning and improving where those that do have left it.

It not about the mag only but spreading information - there may be something to learn from people thats doing it - I mean they artists is still working so they must be doing something right.

Just for your interest;in SA for albums to be certified gold RISA asks that the record company Financial Director or Accountant to sign a an official document that they verify that the gold sales have been audited and that they are true to fact.
As you know Financial Directors or Accountant thrive on their professional credibility they would not put their signature on something questionable for fear it may very well come back and dent the "credibility look".
So while we dont have soundscan and such we do have some sort of process to verify this.
Also for those that dont know Skwatta Kamp pa**ed gold twice already - Mkhukhu Funkshen (+45 000 units) and Washmkhukhu (35 000) .
Its great to see hiphop artists doing it and the list growing by the day.
Personally I think the gold thing is now boring, the next milestone should be 100 000 in the next two years and maybe in the next five 250 000 but hey maybe its crazy talk!!!

Just checked out some unreleased Skwatta joints on www.myspace.com/publicitystuntz ; one is apparantly a version of "FAKE a** PIMP" produced by 37MPH and "THE WAR IZ ON" produced by INFA both cut from Bak On Kampus.

The Lost Boys had an Album called Legal Drug Money thats where the name comes from.They explained it this way, they felt that music is like a drug in a way that affects people sometimes.
So money made off music is like Legal Drug Money.
