Wusup world. Been a minute since I laid foot onto AG - miss it. School has the better of me. Anyways, I recently recorded a track over the "Forever" instrumental - originally done by Drake, Kanye West, Lil' Wayne & Eminem. This one was recorded by my man Lex and engineered by myself. We both fresh out of highschool and still doing bedroom recording so please don't mind the quality. Enjoy:

Google is,really, your friend... You seem to have a lazy-a** approach to life. Anyways, I'ma help you for now...

Snare - piece of a drum kit/a type of a drum

Chopping - slicing up a track (to sample or use)

Loop - a repititive pattern

Sampler - hardware/software used for sampling

Sampling - using a part of another song/sound clip to create your own one

Plug In - a software/hardware that is used for (extra) sounds or effects

Drums - drums are instruments, a certain type of instrument ( $:-\$ ... seems like you really need help)

Kicks - piece of a drum kit/type of a drum

Akai MPC - a drum machine/sampler

Producers, please correct me if I'm wrong...

Morning...

Just spent 14 hours on a song. 5 on Friday and 9 on Monday. Personally this is way more time than I normally spend on a track, reason being that I was recording a whole band this time. With the help of Alec Brits, a friend, band mate and fellow producer, we tidied up pretty nicely.

The song is a tribute song we wrote for the St Alban's College matric group this year, our matric group. It is a huge song though so, unless I convert it, I won't be able to gooi in an AG download but you can get here:

Feel free distribute and, give feedback on the song, the mixing on it, and all that. With that said, we won't change anything on it, but I will use it for future reference.

Aight... I'm back. I peeped the joint, and I gotta say the kicks sound a bit like they aren't part of the beat... They stand out just a bit - and they have more of a click sound than an overall wholesome sound.

That's just how it sounds to me though. Dope beat none the less.

Beat sounds dope... But I still gotta listen to it through headphones or a better interface since you asked about mixing... I bumped through my laptop speakers because I was kinda in a rush to sit down... anyways, I'll give more feed later... X.
