the red head has been sacked out as the captain of the proteas. i think that he deserves it becouse he had one of the most powerfull squads in the tornament but still he couldn´t qualify 4 the super 6. i think that beacouse he has beef with that fat sports minister he lost some games on pupose. the whole squad should be punished 4 not performing in the world cup.  :-Y  :-Y  :-Y  :-Y  :-Y

General Discussion / rappers in love
« on: March 05, 2003, 10:31:00 PM »
Two rappers claiming to hate each other are having their work cut out in the female department. Rumours are that Nas is now engaged to the Andile lookalike, singer Kelis ("I hate you so much right now!"), his girlfriend of a few months. They are said to have plans of matrimony for September. A spokesman for the two denies the engagement, but says they are still together. Jay-Z on the other hand, flat out refutes floating claims of him dating Beyonce Knowles. He says they are just friends, and that he´s much closer to Memphis Bleek who he´s known since 1994. Apparently the man known to his "haters" as Gay-Z has said he would pick Bleek over Beyonce anytime. "Between Beyonce and him? Beyonce´s got to go," he says in an interview with Playboy magazine AmericaTwo rappers claiming to hate each other are having their work cut out in the female department. Chris Gotti, Irv Gotti, CEO of Murder Inc. Records´ brother, had to be hospitalised last week when a bullet hit his leg in New York City. He is said to be fine after the wound was bandaged. No motive has yet been established for the shooting.
Days before, the GMC truck that Busta Rhymes loves so much was sprayed by a hail of bullets at about 22:00 last Friday, just outside the offices of his management company Violator, also in New York. Busta had just got out of the car minutes earlier to go to the offices when, in drive-by style, a car sped by and opened fire on his car. No one was injured and the motive has not been established.

Then former jailbird and accomplished MC Keith Murray got involved in a car accident on Thursday. He was travelling with the group LOD when the car hit a railing on the freeway, flipped over and crashed into other cars. The occupants escaped with minor injuries.

General Discussion / sama9 nominations
« on: February 27, 2003, 07:30:00 PM »
Skwatta Kamp, Gommora and Kaybee occupy the Best Rap Album slot in a sign that shows how far we´ve come as far as hip-hop goes eMzansi (remember Bob Mabena´s win in 1997 and Zwai´s award last year?). My betting money is on Skwatta Kamp who are known for their hits "Manyisa" and "Rau Rauith, Jae and Loyiso for Best R&B Album. But what is likely to be a heated category is the Best Kwaito Music Album one. Nominees here are Kabelo, Mapaputsi, M´du, Mzambiya and the phenomenal Mzekezeke.
Mzekezeke, being the media-shy type, wasn´t there to check it all out, or was he? He was represented by his manager and friend DJ S´bu of Yfm. S´bu was heard to complain that his understudy was not nominated for Best Newcomer. Kabelo, the rebel with a cause, came out all dressed up in a semi-formal dark suit, looking as good as ever. MaBrrr was there as well in full force, clad in Mzansi World Cup cricket gear complete with a bat! She looked absolutely unique with her nomination for Best African Pop up for grabs. Yfm Station Manager Greg Maloka was spotted mingling with the industry´s other top dogs, including Leslie Sedibe, the Chairman of RISA and DJ Iggy Smallz. I´m always pleased to see the Revolution boys (nominated for Best Duo or Group and Best Dance Album) at these posh parties. The twins always rock up in t-shirts that publicise their group, and they always sit quietly away from other celebs. The young Mzambiya has finally grown up and is competing with the bigger dogs in the industry.
