Now let's go way back to 40's, 50's and 60's. Who is your favourite jazz musician back then. Mina I'm more impressed by Miles Davis and John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Ahmad Jamal.

Producers - Discussion / Ba**line/Ba**
« on: May 20, 2008, 12:57:41 PM »
Sum of ya'll call it the ba** sum call it the ba**line. I have come to realize that if
u laying down a beat..this should be the strongest point of your beat. (Ba**). Sum of us focus more on the samples (like myself), others spend more time in drums.....and there are those whose actually good at it.

I mean the ba**line.....Its also on my wish list to be able to flip the ba** so nice, that it moves something in you. You know that ba**line that shake your balls or your girl tites.
I am busy perfecting the craft...I'm definitely not close to make dope ba**lines, but I suppose it requires lots of skills
and yrs of xperience.

When I first heard Jay Dee (Shake It Down - Instrumental) I was blown away period. The ba** in that beat...I mean the beat is so simple...but the ba** that he used there, complete the whole beat. I mean u have to notice this....the guys who are actually good at it,  makes the ba** compliment the drum kick very well.....If u listen closer to the above mentioned beat by Jay Dee u will realize that his drum kick and the ba** sound like they r of the same kind. And guys like Pete Rock, Nyambz, BK, Kev Brown, etc r also good in ba**lines, but the ones that stands out most for me is Jay Dee & Hi-Tek (remember the Blast & Still here by Big L). That ba** is like WHOA!!!!

So the ba**line is realy important in a beat....i add on to that.

Ohhh...never forget that ba**line on Looptroop's track - Flyaway

General Discussion / MJ - Michael Jackson
« on: May 19, 2008, 12:13:19 PM »
I know sum of ya'll may not agree with me on this one, but Mina personally I think Michael Jackon so called MJ is
the truth musically. I've never known any artist that started his musical career at this age (5yrs) and still doing it 2day.
The dude was brought into his family band because of his voice..He started performing for millions of audience/crowd at the age of 5yrs old.

Michael Jackson has inspired lots of artist(s) and his music was sampled by many, and my fav one is Human Nature from his
album Thriller - was sampled by Nas - illmatic - It's Ain't Hard To Tell. And the other is Liberian Girl from Bad was sampled by
MC Lyte - Keep On Keepin' On ft. Xscape.

I also think that Pete Rock used the drums from Billy Jean, to his song Take Your Time...I'm not sure though...but drums sound similar
