General Discussion / Is the cream on top really that hot?
« on: January 29, 2003, 10:31:00 PM »
Moodphase 5 are wack.  Godessa is wack.

Do I have your attention now?  Well thank you and I’d like to ask you to join me in this seminar on the wackness of those so called elites at the top of the food chain in South African hip hop.

Black Noise is wack

Emile cannot rap.  That’s a fact.  Listen to him very carefully.  He sounds like a Q-Tip clone.  But he’s got no flow.  Their latest video “Bring Forth The Battle” is the weakest song I’ve ever heard.  Yet we praise them.  What is wrong with us?  Are we so scared of being anti-wack?

The Headwarmers Show on Bush FM is wack

All they do is talk right through the night.  I don’t want to hear Aunty Galiema phoning in telling us how much she loves her nephew who is living in Kakamas.  I want to listen to hip hop godammit.

Hemphatic Tabs Is Wack

Okay, so what he’s got good words, but he sounds like a gay.

Godessa/Moodphase 5 is wack

Now the reason I say this is because when you listen to their music you can actually hear they have no skill.  It seems as if African dope is taking advantage of these untalented retards by getting sympathy from Europeans by using the same method that Black Noise uses.

It goes something like this:

“OH PLEASE FEEL SORRY FOR ME, I’M BLACK AND I WAS OPPPRESSED (actually you are coloured and you did not suffer as much as the blacks) AND NOW SOUTH AFRICA IS FREE AND EVEN THOUGH I HATE YOU WHITE EUROPEANS I WANT YOUR MONEY.  I’M GOING TO BUILD A CHILDRENS PARK IN MITCHELL S PLAIN SO THAT MY COMMUNITY CAN LIVE IN PEACE”

blah blah blah blah blah blah

If people in Europe knew about the REAL UNDERGROUND TALENTED EMCEES in Johannesburg, Cape Town and wherever else they would listen one second to the retards I’ve mentioned above.

Thank you and have a good day

THORAX

General Discussion / ARE BLACK PEOPLE A LAZY PEOPLE...
« on: January 28, 2003, 07:44:00 AM »
firstly... this is not meant as an attack on any race group...

ONLY RECENTLY I MADE THIS OBSERVATION:
BLACK PEOPLE WOULD START A TREND OR SUBCULTURE, BUT THEY ARE NOT THE ONES TO "REALLY" PROFIT FROM IT... OR BECOME THE ONES RESPONSIBLE FOR ITS SURVIVAL AND LONGEVITY.

CURRENT EXAMPLES ARE:

MANDOZA - MAD TALENTED EX-B.BOY TURNED KWAITO DIAMOND.. NO MATTER HOW TALENTED HE IS, GABI LE ROUX OWN THE RIGHTS TO HIS MUSIC.

HOUSE AFRIKA - THE FIRST THING U PICTURE WHEN U HEAR HOUSE AFRIKA IS "DJ DA VINCI". YET TIM WHITE OWN THE LABEL.

YFM - THE BIGGEST REGIONAL RADIO STATION; MADE FAMOUS BY "THE STUFF THAT BLACK PEOPLE SAY AND DO". BUT RUN BY DIRK HARTFORD.

HIPHOP ON THE INTERNET - THE KUSH.CO.ZA SITE SAYS ROZZANO IS THE "LEGENDARY" DJ WHO WAS THERE WHEN HIPHOP EMERGED IN THE 80´S.THERE´S ALSO READY D, EMILE YX AND A HOST OF OTHERS.. BUT THE PEOPLE LEADING THE DIGITAL REVOLUTION IN HIPHOP ARE MILKDADDY AND Ma** DOSAGE.

THE SAME CAN BE SAID FOR THE CAPE COMEDY COLLECTIVE. DEF JAM RECORDS. STREET PROMOTIONS IN THE USA. CCP RECORS IN JOZI.

does this mean that blacks are lazy or does it mean that we live in a 100% global village where it doesn´t matter who does what and who gets paid off who´s back?

YOUR THOUGHTS NETCROWD???????????????????????????????????????????????

General Discussion / Benzino VS Eminem
« on: January 13, 2003, 11:11:00 PM »
Have any of you heard Die Another Day by Benzino?  What did you think of it and how funny is it that he can lash out like that against Em and get so personal that´s it makes me sick.  Benzino is a parasite who uses his position to get him where he wants to be by exploiting his position.  He knows nothing about hip hop and you see he thinks he cool because he use to run with the Almighty RSO and now he says he´s the 5 mic giver.  I say we should´nt even bother reading the source magazine anymore because if we do then we are actually allowing him to stuff his fat face with lobster every night.  rather go out and purchase local hip hop so that some kids on the cape flats can buy themselves a vienna gatbsy and wash it down with some nice orange frulati.
Benzino is a retard with no talent.  i know a lot of Benzino´s in this country.  in fact there´s a benzino in our local hip hop scene.  it doesn´t take a genius to realise who i´m talking about here.  i´m talking about a very well known deejay (no not ready d).  so yes, Benzino is wack, if you get past his okay beats and listen to his rhyming carefully you will realise that he sounds like a squirrel with it´s mouth full of nuts.   :-(  :-Y  :-Y  :-Y  :-Y  :-Y  :-Y

General Discussion / Is Nas´ Gods Son A Cla**ic?
« on: January 13, 2003, 09:35:00 PM »
It has been dubbed a cla**ic.  NOBODY can take the pa**ion that exists in his verses and the vocal pica**o´s that spit from his mouth.  Is this a cla**ic and if you agree tell us why.  If not tell us why! 8-)

Producers - Discussion / tight producers
« on: January 10, 2003, 08:25:00 PM »
Did you guys hear that production that´s coming out of the Uprok Records stable?  I´m talking about people like Dert, David Santos.  You need to check out the new Sev Statik album entitled "Speak Life". There´s some mad production on there.  Also check out the Raphi album called Cali Quake.

Then as always I think that Premier is a dope producer.  I mean check his work on Afu-Ra´s new album and then also check out the new Gangstarr track "Skillz".  It´s nice.

Some of my favourite producers:

D-Sane, Bosko, Mike Moseley, Ant Banks, Dr Dre, Just Blaze, Pete Rock, Trackmasterz, the list goes on.

also check the production on the MF Grimm album.

Locally I´m diggin production by Bevan Moleveld, Mad C (Point Blank), Pablo (Street Bros) and MilkDaddy (the owner of this site), and then the production from the Groundworks and Skwatta Kamp albums.

I can go on forever!
