Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa died in a Paris hospital on Thursday after suffering a stroke earlier this week, South Africa's Talk Radio 702 reported.

The radio quoted a Zambian High Commission spokesman as saying that Mwanawasa died earlier on Thursday morning. Mwanawasa was taken to hospital in Egypt just before an African Union summit on Monday and Tuesday and then transferred to Paris.

Judge halts release of Verne Troyer sex tape
2 days ago

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A 25-second snippet of video showing Verne Troyer and a former girlfriend having sex that was available online over the past couple of days is all the world will see of the tape — for now.

A federal judge on Friday granted a temporary restraining order requested by Troyer's attorneys that prevents pron distributors from taking orders for the full-length video, and prevents TMZ from broadcasting any more clips.

The celebrity Web site posted the short segment on its site on Wednesday; Troyer sued the site and pron distributors on Thursday for $20 million in damages.

U.S. District Judge Philip Gutierrez wrote that Troyer's motion "demonstrated that he will suffer irreparable harm to his reputation" if the tape is distributed. It barred further broadcasting of the tape, which Troyer's attorney, Tracy Rane, interpreted as meaning that TMZ has to remove the video from its site.

TMZ removed the snippet of the tape by late Friday afternoon, instead redirecting Web viewers to its homepage. Another post describing the lawsuit remained active Friday.

General Discussion / Hip Hop Sites Under Attack!
« on: June 29, 2008, 06:31:34 PM »
As many of you are already aware, SOHH.com has been under attack by hackers this week. We noticed the first wave of attacks in our vBulletins forums and as of this morning the whole site was compromised.

It appears that hackers are specifically targeting Black, Hispanic, Asian and Jewish youth who ascribe to hip hop culture. Other websites, including AllHipHop and Da Piff Forums, have also been compromised or threatened this week.

We are managing this situation on several fronts. We have taken down the server to patch the security breach and put in protections for future attacks. Also, as this is an international issue, it is being addressed by The FBI and the Strategic Alliance Cyber Crime Working Group.http://www.fbi.gov/page2/march08/cybergroup_031708.html

We realize the hackers attacked SOHH.com because of our stature in the hip hop space and the people we serve. Unfortunately, we did a poor job of protecting SOHH.com from imminent threats from people who hate our community simply because of it’s racial and ethnic makeup.

This has brought to light our vulnerabilities and those of the internet users as a whole. What’s possible now is for us to join together to identify and eliminate this threat.

Report Internet crimes here: https://complaint.ic3.gov/

(off sohh)

hope ag is safe!

Movie Talk / Incredible Hulk Full Trailer
« on: June 08, 2008, 10:36:42 AM »

Depicting the events after the Gamma Bomb. 'The Incredible Hulk' tells the story of Dr Bruce Banner, who seeks a cure to his unique condition, which causes him to turn into a giant green monster under emotional stress. Whilst on the run from military which seeks his capture, Banner comes close to a cure. But all is lost when a new creature emerges; The Abomination. Written by Graham Kroon

A cure is in reach for the world's most primal force of fury: THE INCREDIBLE HULK. We find scientist Bruce Banner, living in shadows, scouring the planet for an antidote. But the warmongers who dream of abusing his powers won't leave him alone, nor will his need to be with the only woman he has ever loved, Betty Ross. Upon returning to civilization, our brilliant doctor is ruthlessly pursued by The Abomination -- a nightmarish beast of pure adrenaline and aggression whose powers match The Hulk's own. A fight of comic-book proportions ensues as Banner must call upon the hero within to rescue New York City from total destruction. One scientist must make an agonizing final choice -- accept a peaceful life as Bruce Banner or the creature he could permanently become: THE INCREDIBLE HULK.

AFRICAN WOMAN

Verse One

African Woman displayed in your splendor and grace/

In true form know you're more than just a body and face/

Brown skin, dark skinned, light skinned woman/

The perfect creation of what we call human/

The respect that you give to the man in your life/

Stay true by his side through the bad and strife/

A good spouse from when the vows spoken/

A Real woman never separates/never broken/

Your sensual being, is a sexual thing/

The sun shines brighter every time you sing/

Through years you have suffered from men's abuse/

Realize your value not an object of use, you're worth more than gold/

Yours is the story that's timeless, and has to be told/

A worthy vessel for this earth, the precious mold/

Everything you give, you get back forty fold/

African Woman – Stay strong for the good of us all because we need you to be there/

African Woman - You are the mother of us all and you are loved so much more than you know/

African Woman – You've been with your child in the cold, and there's a reason why so tight you hold/

African Woman – Forget all the ills of this earth, this love's been there since birth/

Verse Two

The Mother of men you are the true meaning of Beauty/

You deserve the whole nine remunerated fully/

Truly I tell this tale, I never tell a lie/

Bob said when there's no Woman, there's no cry/

So fly when you walk, your touch is so tender/

Slender curves from head to toe/so real you do it slow/

A natural high you give when you pleasure your man/

You conceive the future, birth saviors to relieve the land/

African Women all places, North, South, East, West/

These words are from the heart, from the depths of my chest/

Please hear my call, all Women that never felt fulfilled/

All things you long for will be revealed/

You're more than skilled; you're the keeper of many/

Any and anyhow, anywhere you command respect/

You demand none less, the best and this is oh so true/

Verse Three

What more can I say 'bout the ultimate being/

African Princess or Queen with the look and body mean/

Your aroma transcends to heights, another level/

So high the sky should be made your pedestal/

Never a fool to any man, background, race or creed/

When you're in pain and anguish the family bleeds/

The family needs your attention, certain things never mentioned/

When you're down, I feel my whole plans in detention/

When you're mad, it's so bad I could hold the tension/

You are the teacher, time and time again, lesson after lesson/

Through seasons you stand strong, built to last for long/

It is the man the does you wrong but loves you the most/

You are the alpha after God you are the alter/

Worshipped like an idol, a man dies you're his revival/

You're liable for this world, like a bible you are held in high regard/

Movie Talk / Tales From the Hood

Cla**ic>

"This ain't no funeral parlor. This ain't the terrordome. Welcome to HELL mothaf*#%@!" In not too many words I want to express my respect for one of the most underrated horror movies of the 90s. Like The Twilight Zone it is a segmented film (although all directed by Rusty Cundieff) that spans across a good variety of horror genres. The real horrorshow here, though, is the domestic/racial issues against the black community. Cleverly (and without being preachy or offensive to white people), Cundieff disguised his agenda with rich characters and a bone chilling conclusion.

The HIGHPOINT of this movie for me is the film's proverbial ringleader- a funeral parlor director. The man, brilliantly and hilariously underplayed by a bug-eyed Clarence Williams III, finds a stack of drugs he wants to sell to three young hoods. As you watch you begin to wonder what eerie agenda he really has in store. These scenes tie all the vignettes together.

Also, the final segment is a very profound statement on gang violence (although beware, this is the preachiest segment). I like to call it A Clockwork Black because it applies Anthony Burgress's idea of reversing violence onto the offender onto a gang leader called Krazy K. Those K's in his name aren't a mistake either! Cundieff underlines a necessary argument about between black-on-black violence by comparing K to a neo nazi.

Like any memorable work of horror, Tales remembers to keep its monsters metaphorical. Police brutality, domestic violence, racial profiling, and gang violence are the most hideous creatures found here. I complement Rusty Cundieff on a job well done there. Excessive campiness and at-times generic camera work keep this from being great, but nothing stops its relevance in the genre.
