General Discussion / Re: Burqa

my perception of fact and science go more towards Michel Foucalt's understanding of them. the mechanics of knowledge accumulation are not infallible. science can easily be seen - just like religion - as a projection of reality instead of it's reflection. a lot of what science is based on is abstract and intangible. i'm not saying it doesn't work, but how it's thought about and what it means can always be called into question. but this is not the thread for that.

Let's do this, climb on top of whatever building you are inside now, get to the edge of the roof and simply walk off and let's see just how science is a projection of reality instead of it's reflection and a lot of science is based on is abstract and intangible.
How about that.

that was juvenile. you got none of what i said. do you understand the concept of ontological knowledge versus teleological knowledge and each one's relationship to the "perception" of reality? just say so if you don't, because we're arguing on very different levels, right now. i won't die because of science. science will have a way of putting my death in it's terms and explaining it according to it's own laws which, when drawn out, become intangible conjecture like every other belief system.

anyway as i said, this is not the place.

the thing with the Muslim women is petty. it seems like Sarkozy is showing off. why not let the women wear whatever they want. one MAN tells them to wear the suits, another MAN tells them to take them off. listen to what THEY want, that's the only thing worth discussing here.

This is very simple, it could be called "science" or "shit happens". The fact is there is law. You jump up gravity, or to indulge will call it groundmagnet will pull you down.
You split an atom you get a bomb.
Oil will float to the top mixed with water.
These are things that will always...always happen.
There are not perceptions.
You want do equate them with religion?
Has your prayer to win the Lotto been answered yet?

This Michael you speak of can try to obscure things by using lexicon and you believe him it's fine.
But I hope one day you realise how silly this, "Science will have a way of putting my death in it's terms and explaining it according to it's own laws" is.

You sound like a Black American talking about the MAN.

Well that depends on your/their definition of sexy. Who says women don't find the mystery of covering themselves with a black cloth sexy? I hardly think you or anybody can stand and talk on behalf of ALL WOMEN because not all women think the same.
[/quote]

Okay semi-valid point. I say semi because it's true sexy is different to people. But Before I indulge you answer this,
Would a woman wear black from head to toe willingly and also to feel sexy?

No one has answered this simple question.

hahahahaha !!! check out the big brains on Capt Schti. LOL !!!!

ummmm, when i said "that's too deep for me homie" i was talking to Camera Man. Do u see in my post, how i said that after his quote ? that means it was addressed to him. now go search for an "Internet Forums 101" course or something, and go out on a few more dates b4 u come tell me im outta my depth.

and i did follow your instructions.i said "i've been dating girls before you could pee in the toilet" , which suggest that i do know them and i do get them.Which would also explain why im married by the way.

Should I...um yes

Of course you were talking to Camera, but you were talking about this subject which I still insist is out of your depth.

And if you followed the instruction and your answer to this:
"Would a woman want to cover herself from head to toe in black cloth?"
is this:
"I've been dating girls before you could pee in the toilet"

I don't know what more to say to you.

dude, how many women have u met in your life ? and u gonna take your experiences from that and apply it to the whole world ? all women ? wow. women in Peru ? and in Tibet ? in Palestine ? in Norway ? in Indonesia ? in Sudan ? in Russia ? they all wanna be sexy right ? and im the one who's outta depth ? LOL !!! whatever man.

My man, go write a punchline.

You couldn't follow these simple instructions;

"Do you know women? Do you get them? Or even if you kinda get them?

Now, think about them for a minute and then ask yourself this question:
Would a woman want to cover herself from head to toe in black cloth?"

And you yourself said;

"that's too deep for me homie."

and finally, you ask,
"they all wanna be sexy right?"

The answer to this question is yes.

Using that logic, who is responsible for the person responsible?

that's too deep for me homie.let's try and resolve the first step b4 we go further shall we ? but just cos i can't prove the origin of this "person"doesn't mean i can't believe that someone is responsible for all this. he/she probably has a mother who had a mother and so on and so on, who knows ? getting to the very first person in that hierarchy will take forever.so i'd rather focus on the last level, which is where we come in.

If you believe something, then you must provide evidence for it.

that's why it's called FAITH. like someone saying i have FAITH that the Federation album is gonna be banging. You don't necessarily have prove that it's gonna be, but u have some hope that it is.  and who do we need to present this evidence to really ? you believe, u believe, simple as that. since when was it required that once u believe u should prove it to the world ? believe is a personal thing. just like an opinion.

I did not want to get to this...
Do you know women? Do you get them? Or even if you kinda get them?

Now, think about them for a minute and then ask yourself this question:
Would a woman want to cover herself from head to toe in black cloth?

your reasoning is just plain stupid.

Dude I told you that you are out of your depth. I wasn't trying to funny or to embara** you.
You are truly out of your depth.

you are treading on dangerous territory here my friend, im all for freedom of speech, but its often prudent to do one's research and appreciate any said subject matter before you hurl slander at it and try to demean it with idiotic statements...Muslims have and still are taking too much crap from people who simply do NOT UNDERSTAND the religion. what say you let this one go and play your hand at something else... :-[

You idiotic git!
Did have to go ahead and prove how idiotic religious people are?
How does your mom feel about you worshipping thin air?

Again which female do you know would willing want to look like a burnt meatball with eyes?
Now try using reason to answer that, I know it's hard.

And it's libel not slander.

how is it that you go from bashing Muslim religion to mentioning my mom?...il back away from this one...let you do your thing...one!

Okay... fine even though it wasn't vulgar, I'm sorry I mentioned her. We cool?

apology accepted, we square...

Brilliant. Now back to the topic you tool...

I stand by my original statement. No one women wants to wear black for head to toe.

You too.
I stand by my original statement. No one women wants to wear black for head to toe.

And for this she did it because she wanted to be more pious. It just proves my point.

Just out of interest, where did you conduct your research? How is it that you are so sure that no woman wants to follow their religion? Do you understand the significance of the Burqa or are you just making unfounded statements based on your personal opinion.

f*** chick, how many times have I said this, no woman wants to wear black head to toe.

And just to indulge you, do not confuse following religion with wearing a burqa.
God, for those who believe, says follows my way or whatever he says...
The clergyMEN create laws that say women need to cover themselves.
Those are two seperate things

Do your research before you bash a religion?
It is a personal choice for many muslim women to wear the burqa? What's next? Banning orthodox Jews from wearing their sideburns and hats?
Maybe they should ban those silly collars that Catholic priests wear.

What f***ing research?
Let me restate- no women wants to wear black from head to toe finish and klaar.
Hence it is not a personal choice.
I don't care what religious people wear, gold chains burqa whatever...
My point is no woman wakes up dreaming of wrapping herself in a refuse bag.
