General Discussion / Re: RIP King Daniel...
« on: July 29, 2010, 10:42:00 PM »
King Dan...eish. Cat was very strange. He came to the studio one day, dropped his album Primitive Derivatives then left without saying much. He seemed to be looking forward to getting back into the thick of things after being relegated to the periphery of Cape Town hip-hop.

It was always sad for me to see him not 'progressing' in the same way that his contemporaries were. Most of the members of the original Fifth Floor are holding down steady jobs, becoming family men and generally improving their life.

Whenever I got a chance to speak to him, he was always frustrated that some of the 'newer generation' of headz was getting more recognition than he. "I've paid my dues. All you new cats still need to pay your dues.", I remember him saying one night.

I bet now everyone is going to be chanting his name at their performances and talking about how much of a legend he was when none of us did anything when we saw that dude needed some help. When was the last time some of us even thought about him? Listened to a track of his?

EISH..let me not say any more.

Please listen to Bush Radio 89.5fm this friday where we will be inviting calls from anyone who wants to talk about King Dan. The number is 0214485450. Show starts at 22h00 and ends at 00h00.

I refuse to believe that this is freestyle cos it means I have lots of work to do. I like the way this guy structures his punchlines...

I find it extremely weird for a straight dude to hang out with gay people and not share their lifestyle. its just inevitable. i wouldnt and will never make gay friends im dead crias. im too homophobic to convo with pink skinny jean wearin motherf***ers. if u feel comfortable around gays best believe u got a gayness inside u. id rather hang out with weed niggaz in the ghetto. "ras u need to take a bath"

You have a picture of Brad Pitt as your profile pic. I'm just saying you know...

I have become friends with some gay guys through female friends of mine. They are actually very good at pimping out their girl friends. If you don't act like a dickhead around them (pulling your face, refusing to touch them, or acting awkward in general) they will hand over their friends to you like they are handing out pamphlets.

If you act like a dickhead (pun intended) they can become very powerful cockblockers. So it is in your best straight interests to just chill.

Those gay games are not just a white thing.

When I was young I saw a black 17 year old telling his friends to hold down a 12 year old kid and he proceeded to rape him while his companions were giggling. The 12 year old was unfortunate because he was fat and couldn't run fast enough...the rest of us ran and laughed all the way home.

Also, one day we caught 2 black-as-can-be kids going at it ehokini (not sure how to translate this). We used to use this old shack to smoke weed and drink beers. My friend came running to call me from home, we got there and peaked through the and opening in the zinc-sheet wall. They were chowing.

Remember, black people can be gay too.

I'd rather give up on a soul mate than be touchy with a gay dude so he can give me access to her. f*** that.

Im cool with gay dude, cant stand those over flamboyant ones though, they are as annoying as ear drum piercing model c accents. I got to be acquainted with gay dudes through ex girlsfirends and when i meet some of them in public i actually hang with them.

In this day and age where homosexuality is all over the place, as in more visible than in the past, it might just do you some to good for you to get used to it. who knows, your son might just be gay one day, then you get a stroke because you were not ready for it. then your gay son and his closest gay friend has to nurse 'cause you cant wash yourself. :)

Never let yourself get to that point. Once my bladder and rectal sphincter start malfunctioning (no homo), I will kill myself with  a rifle very quickly....

Alright... I hope that the link works now. I have also made the songs downloadable for free on www.reverbnation.com/1kind   . Cool thing about that is the fact that you can choose which song you want.

Otherwise you can download the whole mixtape on this link. (cross fingers)
