General Discussion / "AG IS DEAD"

i invite everyone who's a member of the forum to use this thread to explain why they no longer visit the site and/or are no longer as active.

i'm sure i don't speak only for myself when i say visiting the site has become a mild, but sort of self-inflicted form of torture, where you find yourself lingering around for four responses (let alone posts!) every hour or so. i'm really curious; how did it get this bad, this quickly?

and yes, you, lurking while viewing this, log in already and spit your shit.

come on people!

let's go nine pages deep with this one, and settle this.

General Discussion / Cape Town
« on: December 15, 2009, 09:34:47 AM »
i just realized Cape Town is the future of Hip Hop in this country.

if Iaepetus would relocate to Cape Town (gaining proximity with Pioneer Unit), there would, literally, be little to nothing stopping Hip Hop from actually having something to say again - on a large scale.

Spaza's already expanding in the most exciting way, now if you were to add the J-Sec inner-city formalists on top of Cape Town's very own formalists (those who can put their drinks down long enough to drop heat, that is) and the Spaza cats, then hip hop would really step the f*** up, again.

there's a reason they keep saying nothing's coming out of Cape Town. it's because no one wants to hear the shit people are saying, since it might alert them to the fact that shit is, in actual fact, not okay in this country, and that there are  a few intelligent and articulate young people who won't be compliant for much longer.

Branson's space flight plan unveiled

Commercial space travel came one step closer to being realised today when Sir Richard Branson unveiled Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo (SS2) on a barren airstrip tucked into the edge of the Mojave desert.

The carbon-composite craft is about the size of a Gulfstream jet and aims to enable anyone with enough money to pay for the privilege to be blasted to the brink of space.

By the looks of it, there is already quite a waiting list.

Scientist Stephen Hawking and celebrities such as X-Men director Brian Singer and former Dallas star Victoria Principal are among the 300 would-be space tourists who are said to have signed up for the proposed $200,000 (£122,400), two-and-a-half-hour flights to man's final frontier.

A further 82,000 people have registered their interest on the Virgin Galactic website.

However, it is rumoured that the very first pa**engers will be Branson himself, his two children and parents.

SS2's 12ft long pressurised cabin is designed to carry six pa**engers and two pilots.

After just three days of pre-training, pa**engers will take a trip that is literally out of this world, travelling beyond the Karman line - the generally acknowledged boundary of space, 100km up.

Here, for a few precious minutes, they will experience weightlessness while gazing out at the curvature of the Earth and, perhaps, other planets.

General Discussion / vodka pills!
« on: December 04, 2009, 01:06:16 PM »
this is humanity's greatest age, ever. i feel very proud to be a human being.

Vodka Soon Available in Pill Form

A researcher at a Russian university has developed a powdered form of alcohol that will soon make the consumption of vodka more convenient. From The Times of India:

Russian professor Evgeny Moskalev of Saint Petersburg Technological University has evolved a technique that allows turning alcohol into powder and packing it in pills. The new technique can solidify any kind of alcohol, including whisky, cognac, wine and beer. The new technique can solidify any kind of alcohol, including whisky, cognac, wine and beer.

“Dry” vodka can be wrapped in paper and carried around in a pocket or a bag. Vodka in form of a pill would come handy at parties when “consumers” would be able to calculate their exact required dosage.

Dj Kenzhero Presents Party People Exhibition 2009
With Levis® Original Music

Jo’Burg
4th December 2009

Well, after an amazing 36 months of running in Johannesburg, Dj Kenzhero, along with Levis®, have thrown a curve ball in the mix. Ladies and Gentlemen we bring to you Party People’s First Exhibition, a chance for all our dye-hard fans to have a chance to reflect on all our pa**ed features. Featuring photographers by the likes of Moeketsi Moticoe, whom is currently working on his first solo exhibition “SAY U” (South African Youth Uncovered) opening on June 16, 2010 in Johannesburg and Cape Town. The project focuses on the transformed South African youth since June 16, 1976; Solomon Moremong, whom has a history with photographic journalism in South Africa and Lwazi Hlophe founder of Bush Images Photography, providing professional photography solutions for companies, organizations and individuals alike. Along with our array of professional photographers, whom have captured every moment of Party People, we also host our creative team behind all the fliers designed through out the years. Romz Delux, whom was the very first designer, was asked to come back and designed the Exhibition Flyer; Herman Hempza Ngwelase designed the second quarter of Party People and brought the influence of Red, which pretty much become a Party People branded colour. The last couple of months, Mpho Magofe took over the reigns from Hempza and Romz and introduced the new phase of the Party People face. And as if all this talent in one room isn’t enough we of course had to include all the crazy featured artists backdrops painted by the infamous T-Mac.

This incredible event, Art Directed by kudzanai chiurai, will be taking place at Party Peoples new home, OST: Original Sound Track (The old Gogo Bar; Corner Henry Nxumalo and Bree Street, Newtown) on Friday the 4th of December 2009. Doors will open at 7:00pm and there will be a cover charge of R60 at 10:30pm. For more info see: www.myspace.com/partypeoplesa
