downloading.

Can't wait to hear it.

Do you know what happened to Skebza? Been a while since I heard from any of the old cats.

Also, what is up with those spectacles? Quite the spectacle...

Skebza's still around, travels between Lesotho and Jo'burg a lot, still doing music. And there's nothing attached to the specs, just felt like doing it I suppose.

@TY-D: well, I didn't 'stand you up' homie. I did, however, send you a private message explaining why I could not make it, a day before the event even  ;)

@ramorethetho: your feedback will be appreciated once you've check it out

Peace to all!

I've been working on some tunes lately, and would like to share this one entitled 'Ngoan'a Nts'oana', produced by Dim Light.

This is not Sesotho funk. This is not mountain pop. This is hardcore hip-hop delivered with a gutteral growl  akin to the style which has been perfected by the long-standing tradition of Basotho freestyle rappers (liroki), and replete with call-and-response chants which have become a staple of Basotho music.

Well, that means we recorded the EP together, and I helped out with the mixing. The details are on the bandcamp page.

Production is handled by Nutz, Raymo, and Cymptom..hope that answers your question  ;)

"Isosceles is part of the new breed of Lesotho-based emcees who are driven by a desire to break the stereotype of their country always being over-looked in social and cultural circles on the global stage. Seeing themselves as equal to anyone else in the world, this breed is intent on making a mark that shall be felt way beyond the confines of their immediate environment. "

I got the opportunity of working with this dude, and thought I should perhaps share the results with the people on this here platform. The work has been uploaded on bandcamp; kindly check it out, download if you like, and leave a comment on this thread.

It would be greatly appreciated!

I've always considered it lazy for someone to say that 'there is no good hip-hop' to listen to...wtf!

Anyway, checkout M3nsa, he's got a new album dropping in November or sometime then.
Krukid is also dope, US-based, Uganda-born. He's working on a project called S.O.S
They new TY album, 'Special kind of fool', is super-dope!
Check out for a producer called Richy Pitch, he's fresh!
DJ Embee's album, 'Mellow turning moment', is something to consider

I could go on...but most importantly, check these two releases out:

Funny how i was searching for this frantically in May thinking it had been released...looking forward to it. Just wish there could be a better distro model for the labels which put these things out so that shipping can be done worldwide. Not much of a fan of the digital format

Oh, and this track is insane:

I'm asking. When will we use the truth for good? When will we learn from history and not repeat it?

I've been obsessed with Thomas Sankara for years. If you don't know about him, he was ahead of his time for some of the revolutionary steps he took during the 80s, a statesman and leader that should be emulated. A man who banned mercs from governmental fleets, a man who changed the name of his country to a phrase that means, the land of upright people. Ask our friend Google about him, you won't regret it.

Funny you should mention his name, just saw a documentary on his life some weeks back. Dude stood his ground, and was a ballsy-a** brother! Definitely ahead of his time, just sad how any memory of him was actively erased from Burkina Faso's people's minds after he was a**a**inated.

Yeah I got that one as well.. M.ani did an EP with Krukid from Uganda and Budo from Seattle too, I think it is called 2 Africans and a Jew or something like that, I'll try and dig it up, if you interrested in hearing it... but, yeah man Ghana been really putting it on lately,.. I just got my copy of Coz Ov Moni in the mail!!

Word, M.anifest and Krukid stay rippin it! And Budo's sick on the beats; they go by the name Afrikan Rebel Movement i think. Oh, and I just came across this song quite recently, peep:

@watz: peeped that post brother, thank you so much for sharing. And since we're on that Ghana tip, have you scoped out M.anifest's 'Birds and beats'? It has been keeping smiles on my face for many months now.
