Media / Beyonce to Jay-z:QUIT Def Jam or Else
« on: September 12, 2006, 11:26:40 AM »
well according to okayplayer.com, there could be sum truth to all these vicious rumours. apparently, allegedly...jay has bn fired as defjam boss...but apparently (im really stressing this as i personally do not know it to be the truth) theyre goin to make it look as if he's stepped down ahead of his world tour..i dunno, i hope its just hate-talk cos i happen to really like and admire jay's business acumen.

ok now u see, i think lobola is a whole separate issue. i mean explicit i do undastand that u don wanna pay lobola, thats your decision to make and i don think ppl of a different culture or even within your own culture should be forced to pay lobola.in well-meaning families the whole point of paying lobola is to show gratitude to the womans family for bringing up sum1 whom the otha family (in-laws) can be proud to call their 'makoti' or whateva. the money from the lobola is meant to be used to pay for the wedding celebration which in most cultures (i am sesotho) is hosted by the brides family.now obviously you do get families who disrespect the whole culture of lobola, and end up using the money for their own selfish reasons, and not to benefit the bride and groom. when my sista got married, her husbands family paid the lobola etc, my dad used it for the wedding and he obviously also contributed towards the wedding, and the rest of the money was given to my sista and her man to start off their new life together. i feel in that case that was lobola money used very wisely, look im not very traditional or whatever but i think that lobola is one tradition that will stick around for a while...

heated topic.myviews on polygamy..hmmm. well im not for it at all. i mean i do undastand where they were cuming from culturally, but that was eons ag, our culture has evolved, we are not the same ppl we were many many years ag, we dont even live a similar lifestyle, so obviously certain aspects of that traditional lifestyle will not comply with our lives today. firstly having one family is mad expensive, now having more than one will cause even more societal problems than we are currently experiencing. people are living in dire poverty, cant even support themselves nevermind other ppl, so im saying right,a lot of men who arent living with their families, divorcees, neva married whateva, can hardly support their children, women have to actually go to court so that their babydaddys can take care of the children they made with the woman, but for sum odd reason i cannot even begin to comprehend, they seem to think its the womans duty to take care of simply cos she gave birth. it doesnt seem very fair to me, but thats anutha topic. i guess the point im tryna make is i don think males are looking at the broader spectrum of polygamy.its not just about having a whole lotta women at ur beck and call, ready to attend to your every need. for a man having that many women and children to provide for physically and emotionally, to be a father to so many children of different women, giving them equal attention, and providing guidance to them, making sure that by the tme they go out into the world they are self-a**ured human beings with no emotional baggage, can prove to be a tedious job. i mean if you feel that u are up to it, and thats what u wanna do, then go aheady. but me to be wife numba 2, 3 ,4, 5 or even 6, aint gon happen, im tryna be numba 1 and only!!!

sometimes-bilal, this is definitely one of my favourite tracks, really does things to me...

This is a song that makes me spill out all my guts
Sometimes

Sometimes, I wish I wasn't me
Sometimes, I wish I was drug free
Sometimes, wish I saw the exit sign first
Sometimes, wish I knew the truth without search
Sometimes, I wish I could go where I never been
See what I never saw, do what I never did
Or walk before I could crawl

Sometimes, I wish my eyes wasn't so red
Sometimes, I wish I had breakfast in bed
Sometimes, I mean it's worth it
Since I did all the work last night
Sometimes, you ain't good to me, yes
I am good to you
And you don't see my attention the way that I do

Sometimes, hey slim, you should be nicer than you are
Sometimes, you take that complaining shit way too far
I mean, I thought it was cute in the beginning but now
I think you only do it cuz you know I hate it
Sometimes, you got me wishing I didn't have home training
Sometimes, then it wouldn't hurt me so bad
With dreams of knocking you in your head
Then it wouldn't hurt me so bad
With our kitchen knife put up your a**

Sometimes, wish I knew life with no pain, yeah
Wish I held the keys to this game
Sometimes, I pretend cuz I'm afraid to be, afriad to be
Sometimes, I hope I live to see twenty five
Sometimes, I wish I could be like Moses
Round up my people, move out the ghetto
And live a better life
Sometimes, I wish I didn't try so hard
Sometimes, who knows truth any way
They don't know nothing, who needs that approval

The sun in your hands player
Move at your own pace, listen to your own mind
Do your own thing, yeah yeah
I'm saying it because I love ya
And I wanna grow with you, yeah yeah
But you wanna run in the other direction
So I got to stay on my path until I win
I win, I win, I win
I wanna win, I wanna win, I wanna win, I wanna win

Oh sometimes, sing it with me I wish
(I wish in love) And I wish, oh I wish
(I wish in peace) Oh sometimes
(I wish in hope) I wish hope
(I wish true) I wish true
(I wish clearly) Hey I wish so clearly sometimes
(Wish with no fear) I wish with no fear
(I have no fear) I have no fear
(Have no doubt) I have no doubt
(I don't doubt) I don't doubt
(Have no doubt) No, I don't doubt
(Have no doubt, I wish love)
I wish love, hey hey

wow brick u must put down the most interesting posts yo!!. ok from a sistas point of view i m not too sho if she's really worth u running after her. i mean firstly ya'll work togetha cud make for sum awkward moments, secondly she told u u were last on her list, thats horrible, she either wants u to chase after her,(the old hard to get game) or she's just not that into you. you seem like a smart, charming guy, why not focus your energy on sum1 who'd appreciate u and put u first on her list, i mean really who wants to settle for a anything other than first place, and u shudn have to have to step up your game to deserve that numba one spot, if she was sincerely feeling u the way that u are clearly feeling her it wouldnt even be an issue. i dunno thats just my take on things. use the advice; dont use it im jus putting it out there.

which is sumthing i just dont understand, with all the statistics being drummed into our heads every 2 seconds u'd think govt, and organisations like WHO(World Health Organisation) would invest money into anti-retrovirals so that they are either freely availabe or available at a cheaper price.i mean really, how does someone who cant even afford 3 meals a day going to afford medication that wud probably cost like their whole income, thats if they even have one....

« on: August 16, 2006, 03:09:44 PM »
yeah i feel u nastie_ed on that hiv tip, everyone trips on sum uh-oh morning after but no-one actualy goes to the clinic to get anti-retrovirals which by the way if u did take them immediately after having unprotected sex cud decrease ur chances of contracting the deadly virus. on the topic of unprotected sex, its scary how many ppl consider it the norm. like just talking to ppl, and evryones on sum "oh come on be realistic who wants to have sex with your girl/boyfriend and use a rubber"..truth is a lot of couples have unprotected sex, and the girl wud be on the pill or sumthing, and they claim to trust each otha, but at the same time they like "no condoms are only for when u cheat". i dunno but thats sounds like the craziest shit i've heard. i don care how much trust exists in a relationship but theres no way im having unprotected sex with my man on the regular. thats like basically giving your life to someone to do with however they please. im tryna live to be old and wrinkled...life is just too beautiful.
