I'm a Woody Allen fan... there's somehting about his narcissism which i find endearing.
Anything with Bill Murray in it.
I'm also a film noir buff (its one of those film school pretensions i picked up) anything with Peter Lorre in it. Anything written by Dashiell Hammett.
Anime and live action Japanese film.. from Akira to Zatoichi, to Perfect Blue to Cowboy Bebop.
BRITISH film, they do realness, realer than anybody else... check out old school Ray Winstone in the cla**ic Filth... the original Get Carter wit Michael Caine (in fact anything wit Michael Caine)
WW2 era cla**ics... The Guns of Navarone, Eye of the Needle, The Safecracker.... Dirty Dozen, Kelly's Heroes.
Any war movie with Ernest Borgnine, David Niven and Lee Marvin is going to be good.
Blaxploitation goodness.. the best soundtracks and OG pimps puttin the jive down on honky bitches... Black Coffee, Sheba Baby, Superfly, ... if it had Fred williamson or Richard Rountree in it its the shiznit... also look out for Joe 'O Neal.
Kung fu goodness... Bruce Lee (of course), Black Belt Jones, the blind monk, House of the white crane, SHaolin mysteries, The Boxer Rebellion.
SPANISH films are f***in good... pedro Almoldovar's work before he started in Hollywood is good shit... also this Spanish indie director Hernan Perez.
And cheesy Italian and Australian comedies... they do some of the best. check The Return of Hercules..... TOO funny!!!!
