use whatever you are comfortable with. I havent used sonar extensively. It looked like a weaker version of reason to me. But basically all these programs have their purposes.
Ultimately all the programs do is offer you different ways of doing the same shit - put into audio the ideas in your head.
I think to compare cubase SX and cakewalk sonar is a bit pointless. They quite different. Cubase is an insanely powerful tool if you know how to use it properly which does take some time - as for sonar...i dont know

to name some. What is better? We goinna compare all of em? Comes down to preference. Some programs are better at some things than others but it tends to be a learning curve. Understanding one program will help in grasping others. So just start making music and dont worry too much if what u are using is the shiznizz..
