All i ask is...where is the creativity. All 50 cents did was spit a couple of wack words over an old beat - the orininal is way overplayed already anyway. And the DJ is going apeshit like he just found Osama Bin Laden. Pressing those 'bomb' and 'siren' drops (payola btw).
Hip-hop has become another production line, like any other industry. Soulless but shiny. Its an industry..automated...run by numbers.
'producers' like dre, timbaland have become conglomerates of ppl working for them. Brand names. 80% of the tracks being played by radio (and the majors who own the stations and the record companies) are produced in the same building....'the hit factory'.
Walk in...choose your beat... spit some wack shit....... make a music video with cars,girls,money and lots of beef (to make sure ppl come back for part 2 of the soap opera), and voila....you got a hit that lemmings and sheep all over the world will buy...cuz they are told its cool...and most ppl are too stupid to think for themselves.
