today i was dissapointed bout the state of mzantsi hip hop. its like cats fear to innovate. everybody is trying to get a piece of the pie so much they forget to bake it.
instead of strivin to get an mzantsi sound (props to kwabulawayo kraal 4 executing that perfectly), style industry 4 that matter. we think that if we get plugged into the yank scene by re-enacting their antics, we will be welcomed with open arms. unfortunately nobody is looking for a coon version of pharell, jigga or any other pop rapper/producer that has built a name for themselves with pure originality. lets 4get this american dream an give birth to the mzantsi reality. that goes for all forms of music. e.g. afro-jazz is considered music globally not just here, y coz it has a unique african flava. props to all the pioneers/innovators and f*** u to all the regurgetators, i dont give a f*** wat laguage you speak.
