Zim Independance

& so it is April 18th 2007. The country I call home turns 27 this day...

In 1965 the government unilaterally declared its independence, but the UK did not recognize the act and demanded more complete voting rights for the black African majority in the country (then called Rhodesia). UN sanctions and a guerrilla uprising finally led to free elections in 1979 and independence (as Zimbabwe) in 1980.

INDEED IT IS INDEPENDENCE.
A wonderful memory.

May it be restored again given the fact that MY PEOPLE UP THERE ARE BEING TERRORISED BY A GERIATRIC MANIAC.

What i do know is that the people in Zim are brave and courageous. And already people are standing up to Bob. I hold Zim dear to my heart because we ran away there when the boers were hunting my parents.

Freedom was never free.

This day is about our forfathers who shed their blood that we could afford the priviledges we are currently blessed with.
This Day is about the Liberation fighters, the unsung heroes who left their families to go into battle.
Who were called terrorists & hunted by their fellow black brothers fighting on the side of theRhodesian gvt.
Its about Josiah Tongogara and ZANLA Liberation forces.
Its about commemorating the heroes of our nation that hey did not die for nothing.
This too shall come to pa**. Ilong to once again drink Mazoe while watching the Police Dog dsplay on ZTV with my 10 nephews & nieces. Cheering..."Mhururu nemuridzo!"
