Aight, burnt the tracks without labelling who did what, (which did'nt help in CASH's case coz he has his name all over the titles-not sleeping on that marketing game) that were up at the time earlier this week & got to them last night.
Sean Pages, that "Beast if I could Speak" is something else. That joint says dude is on the verge of some other sh!t. Some O-T-H-E-R shizzy. What can be done to that can be sick.
Nyambz, that "80's Club beat" put a jiggy smile on my face. SOmething about that joint says the title "Zim Fresh". I can hear Major Playaz or 25to Lyf stylin on that like no mans business. Then there's another joint in the non-sampled section that made me say dayymn, legendary sample dude can bring it like that??? I'll have to go back & double check the name of that beat, can't quite remember right now.
CASH, there's this joint with "Love" in the title or something or maybe I'm confusing with "The One", I'll have to double check the name again. Mumbled to that, it's quite a banging story telling type track with all the breaks in some places that allows for emphasis.
Now for usually unsaid truths....
Questions I had IMHO about the joints that were given props earlier. ...
Sean Pages: "Roze"...yeah, sounds like your regular "throw a basic beat on that sample" formula. Clean but hard to picture anything being laced to make this spectacular. Cats here went crazy but hearing it I just thought aight. Then again, I've seen the most basic of beats..without even a ba**line...be taken to other levels when the right vocals are laced to it.
Nyambz: "R&B track"...yeah, every other part of the music was the sh!t but the drums sounded like they were lifted off somewhere else & just slowed down for that music. Even before the end of the 2nd bar of those drums I was like nah nah nah man, sounds like they were seriously slowed down and does'nt quite work.
^^I hope you both understannd it's all love, I was'nt around for any of your processes, just telling you 1st things I thought, like any other regular listener who would'nt careless unless the song grabbed them from get go.
