An artist rider is what an artist demands from a promoter.

Pioneer Unit is a record label not a promoter so we don't deal with artist riders, we deal with recording contracts. Our artists get paid royalties from CD sales and digital downloads. They also get paid percentages of any licensing deals that we do. They can also buy copies of Planetary a**ault at wholesale price and sell the CDs for profit (and still get their share of royalties).

The artists who performed at the Planetary a**ault launch party did so on the understanding that it was a show to promote their own work, and that they would only get paid if we made a profit. As it happens we did make a profit. The profit was shared out equally amongst the artists (i'm still holding money for cats that haven't collected theirs). all the DJs and other performers were also paid a flat fee agreed in advance. Neither myself or Julian (from Butan) took a cent.

Actually the rider is not bad i've seen worse, a few friends of mines did some shows in the US, and it gets worse, at least 50's shit is just food. Theres riders out there that include the type linen in the bed cats would like to see themselves sleeping in, like satin and shit! i mean wtf!
