20/20 EPISODE 113 (14/07/10)

You are not going to believe the heat on this episode. For starters, heaviest emcee in UK rap (lyrically and literally) has a got a stormer of a single out. Stig Of The Dump is his name. I Got Game is the single. Pete Cannon is the producer. Mood Swings is the album. Hugely excited are we.

Stig is one of the illest rappers in the world, hands down - and if you think we're taking the piss, he just won the End Of The Weak World Champs for a second time. Exactly.

What else? New Mystro, new Black Milk, some Klashnekoff, and that Usain Bolt track everybody's been talking about...

- Around My Way - Mystro
- I Got Game - Stig Of The Dump
- Back To The Sagas - Klashnekoff
- Welcome (Gotta Go) - Black Milk
- Usain Bolt - Tumi featuring Zubz

20/20 EPISODE 115 (04/08/10)

New hip-hop makes us excited. And trust us, 20/20 will distil the essence of what's out there down to twenty minutes of the finest hip-hop you can imagine. So let's get cracking.

Four brand new albums: cla**ic NY boom-bap from Marco Polo, a brand new Outkast album (sort of) from Big Boi, a highly experimental joint from Rakaa and some heat from Rhyme Asylum. Oh, and Termanology and Statik Selectah, both known as 1982. Plus Xzibit, plus Ca**idy. All in all, 20/20 keeps the fire stoked.
- Goin' Back - 1982 featuring Xzibit and Ca**idy
- Radio (Marco Polo Remix) - Marco Polo featuring Exile, Ruste Juxx and Torae
- Fo Yo Sorrows - Big Boi featuring Too $hort, George Clinton and Sam Chris
- C.T.D - Rakaa Iriscience
- Event Horizon - Rhyme Asylum featuring Crooked I

20/20 EPISODE 118 (01/09/10)

Much as we'd love to say we have the new single from the Foreign Exchange, we don't - mostly because it probably hasn't been recorded yet! But they do have a new album coming out (and are now a Grammy-nominated group, trivia fans) and so in their honour we're spinning one of their finest joints: The Answer, off their genuinely timeless debut Connected. The second the new single drops, we'll be on it like a fat man on a buffet.

There's a bunch of other audio goodness on this episode too: tracks we can't wait to spin, like that new Bliss n Eso album cut, some Big Boi, some Marco Polo...oh, just download it already!

- Art House Audio - Bliss n Eso
- Scene Stealers - Skreintax
- How I Get Down (Remix) - Marco Polo featuring Skoob
- Follow Us - Big Boi featuring Vonnegut
- The Answer - The Foreign Exchange featuring Joe Scudda, Ken Starr and Oddisee

20/20 EPISODE 119 (08/09/10)

I hope you guys are liking the new logo! Looks great, doesn't it? Special shouts to Nix and Sean for putting it together. Now we have a company car...

Anyway. The episode. I'd like to introduce you to Modenine.

Yes, I know this episode is bursting with singles from Sheek Louch, Joell Ortiz, Black Milk and a little-known duo called Outkast (brand new, suckers!) but let's talk about Modenine. He's a super-dope Nigerian MC, currently working on a project with 20/20's favourite producer, Alias. It's out this October, and if the single is anything to go by, them boys are packing some heat. We love African hip-hop here at 20/20, so it's great that we get to play this for you.

- Battle Cry - Joell Ortiz
- Lose U - Modenine and Alias
- Lookin 4 Ya (Jedi Remix) - Outkast
- Deadly Medley - Black Milk featuring Royce Da 5'9" and Elzhi
- This Is Hip-Hop - Sheek Louch featuring Joell Ortiz and Termanology

Very nice Nat! DLing now...

And on that note:

20/20 EPISODE 120 (15/09/10)

You would not believe the number of people who got in touch to say they wanted to hear more Joell Ortiz. That Battle Cry joint we dropped last week clearly sparked some fires. And because it is only one-fifth of Ortiz's free new EP Farewell Summer, we thought we'd drop another joint. And what a joint. Joell, Talib Kweli, Jean Grae and Brother Ali on ONE TRACK? Yowzer!

Oh, and your usual mix of Czech DJs, Cape Town Xhosa kids, East Coast brawlers and Canibus. Who doesn't really fit into a category.

- Dreaming - DJ Wich and Nironic
- So Wrong - Joell Ortiz featuring Talib Kweli, Jean Grae and Brother Ali
- Kuse Khaltsha La - Rattex
- Merchant Of Metaphors - Canibus
- OPG Theme - Reef featuring Vinnie Paz and Burke The Jurke (don't ask us!)

They're alongside established veterans like Black Milk, Roots Manuva and Nas. If you're new to 20/20: welcome, have a drink on us, and get stuck in. You'll dig it.

- Swords In The Dirt - Roots Manuva featuring Skeme, Big P, Danny Vicious, Niara and Rodney P
- Uyababa Ngempela - Chillimane
- Purple - Nas

20/20 EPISODE 121 (29/09/10)

Firstly, we have a little announcement to make. You just helped us break the all-time 20/20 record for most downloads in one month. There are 3146 of you who checked us out this September, which means I have 3146 beers to buy. Any chance you could help us get to 4000 by tomorrow and really bankrupt me? I dare ya. I double dare ya!

Right, to business. What's the best posse cut you've ever heard? Live At The Barbecue maybe? Wu-Gambinos? The Anthem? Scenario? Well, how about Scenario 2012? It's off the new Ras Ka** record, and you should really peep the lineup below. Let's just say that mics get melted.

- It Can Wait - Illy
- Scenario 2012 - Ras Ka** featuring Planet Asia, Phil the Agony, Krondon, Montage 1, Mistah Fab and Chino XL
- Hire Me - Dr Syntax
- Midnight Oil - Notes To Self

20/20 EPISODE 122 (06/10/10)

Any record label making it past their first birthday is a triumph, let alone their 20th. But although Ninja Tune isn't strictly a hip-hop label, they do put some out some banging rap tunes, and so to celebrate their 20th birthday (and to say thank you for letting us swing by their huge shindig this past weekend) we're throwing on some cla**ic material. Motion Man and DJ Vadim. It'll put holes in your socks.

Plus, we have shiny new material from both Ill-Literate Skill (who we're going to be interviewing in the next couple of weeks) alongside Skyzoo and Illmind - and is that an Alias/Modenine LP dropping this weekend? Get in there!

- A.D.I.D.A.S / Butterfly Effect - Ras Ka**
- Speakers On Blast - Skyzoo and Illmind
- The Terrorist - DJ Vadim featuring Motion Man
- Unbreakable - Ill-Literate Skill featuring Iamwaves
- Lose You - Modenine and Alias

20/20 EPISODE 123 (20/10/10)

Sorry we left you last week. Ma**ive technical fail - out of our control! But we're back in full effect and have killed the people responsible. That smell under your bed is just old socks. Really.

Ill-Literate-Skill are among the most exciting rap crews in South Africa today. Jimmy Flexx and Uno are really setting the standard when it comes to big, ambitious projects, and they've got the rap skills to ensure that things go smoothly. Jimmy joins us on this episode, talking about their videos, Cape Town weather and how to put an album together in 24 hours. For real.

And while we're at it, we know everybody is saying it, but: RIP Eyedea. That's a real shame.

- Three Story Building - Copywrite featuring MF Grimm and Dilated Peoples
- Addicted - Bliss n Eso
- Unbreakable - Ill-Literate-Skill
- ...Powdered Water Too - Eyedea and Abilities
- Feel Good - Rah Digga

I haven't updated this for a while. Still, AGians will get a kick out of this.

20/20 - CELPH. MUTHAf***IN'. TITLED.

His words, not ours. Big shouts to the Landmine Lieutenant for coming on board and having a quick chat with us. We may have just gotten the big fella out of bed, but he was still coherent. Mostly. Kinda. And by the way, if you haven't heard Nineteen Ninety Now (Celph's record with Buckwild) you need to listen to the joint from it on this episode. Then go buy it. Your life will be better and your babies will be millionaires.

- Stars Shine Bright - CunninLynguists
- Fight Club (Remix) - Slaughterhouse
- The Deal Maker - Celph Titled and Buckwild
- Work - Nitty Scott MC
- Stand By The Window - Reggiimental featuring Matt Henshaw
