and what was up with kaptain oh my kaptain or wat ever he calls himself Mr hard boiled edwin, ben sharpa..... dude looked spooked.was he having butterflies...that was some lame freestyling coming from his a**....i knew them jibba jabba rhymes he scripts in the studio was garbage...thats why he cud not come str8 when he needed to be clear with the intelligence....

I remember Lord finese mentioned something about a freestyle battle move cud jeopardise u r carrier, seems Sharper was playing russian roulette when he took part here. Like eraze done said, dude looked like he was unaware what the battle thing was about, for someone who "apparently" does shows overseas and shud be able to impress a crowd he came off rather wack. f*** the excuse dat he ain't a battle Mc and shit, as an Mc u shud be able to stand u r ground when in a battle arena even if u don't come out tops. For a nigger that does write "intelligent' rhymes, he shud have been more dope than others since it seems he reads a lot and has information which he cud have used against his opponents. There where two Captains battling, Captain beer was the sharpest of them all.lol

All the best MCs in the world have been beaten in battles. Doesn't mean shit unless that's what you stake your reputation on. It might not be Kap's speciality, but he's still better at it than most MCs in this country.

It also has no bearing on the quality of his album. Sharpa is, IMO, the most talented and original MC in SA hip hop. You ain't in touch with reality if you think losing to Adamiz in a battle is gonna effect his career.

I used to chill with sharpa back in 97 98 @ UCT.. we used to freestyle for hours on end. Half the emcees in this country dont have an ounce of the skill that Sharpa has...

Oh.. I forgot the other lil' nugget of entertainment from what I saw.. during the interviews leading up to the battles... they interview Zuluboy... who Ive met and chatted to on several occasions. Something I didnt realize.... my brother and I were rolling on the floor laughin @ how 'larney' his accent was..

Am stating facts from  what I saw last night on TV, dude was str8 wack, he was the only cat that choked at one point/ was out of words. I think him making it to the last 8 cats was just protocol, peeps are always complaining that he ain't being shown sum love in his country and all, so I guess Channel O gave him that shot, plus how can u leave out a cat who was on the cover of HYPE?  I still dig Sharper though, that police track (hegemony) or whateva it is, is one of the greatest shit I bumped last year.
