Anyway back on topic.

DJ Hamma from Cape Town used to have a gig out in CT called Boogy Down Knights. I used to do some emceeing at the gigs (back in the 90's) and he used to tell me that whenever he had a gig featuring local cats.. Headz would be reluctant to pay. Which I can understand because you know the f***ers and you can see them on the street for free... However... each time he'd bring a dude from overseas.. even 'unknowns' to us at the time like DJ Kofi or Semtex from overseas... suddendly guys are willing to fork out. And on top of this he said he used to contact a lot of older heads who some consider legends.. and these dudes are willing to come out here for a bag of good weed and a hotel room. Real talk.. cos its not like they're getting booked out there where they're from anyway..

So since the kids in SA are so big on foreign culture and really have no appreciation for their own kind.. bring the overseas guy as a headline act. Preferably a festival cos SA doesnt seem to emrace the festival culture either.. have him as the headline act.. but all the acts along the way should be local... Yes sure.. the plane tickets may cost a bit... but a bag of weed and a hotel room wont.. plus you could argue that Kenny is doing this extremely well with Party People... headz are shelling out 100 bones almost monthly... and its not gonna stop cos I hear theres even more amazing acts lined up. Lets not even f*** with Big Concerts.. they suck penis and we're all aware of this.
