So, I get home on Tuesday after work. I decided to go home early, so I can cook and shit, before studying, cos I have exams coming up.
As I walk in, I notice that the lights in the lounge aren't working.
I try the kitchen. Also dead. Check the fuse box. Everything there is okay. So I get mad because Eskom said that there will be no more loadshedding in Joburg.
THis means that I can't cook, and I can't study either, because there is no electricity in my house. that was Tuesday, and today is Friday.
I have had to endure 2 cold showers so far this week, cos the electricity has been out for 4 days now. Not just our house, but a whole lot in our street. The strange thing is that we live in a duet, and the house next door has electricity. So do the folks across the road. The ones behind us don't though, and neither does the house on the opposite corner, which is in the market for 4 million. Its a really nice house.
Now I'm broke, cos I have been living off 3 take away meals per day for 4 days, and I had to dip into my alcohol money. I also can't watch movies or anything, which means I have to go out every night, to prevent killing myself.
This is f***ed. Luckily I have all that combat experience from Nam and Desert Storm, so I know how to survive without electricity. I feel sorry for my neighbours.
