the props / smacks thing is anonymous - you can't tell who gave either to you.

it's a simple system you see in a lot of forums these days - if you like what someone said in a specific post, give them props. if you don't like what they said, give them a smack.

I think there should be an image verification system added to registration, to prevent these bots that seem to be overrunning the site recently.
