I can openly admit that I've NEVEERRR sample an 80's track....... or rather one created off a synthesiser.
So when I got the idea of doing it, I just went crazy putting synth's everywhere and hoped it came together.
The track I used is Uniting Nation's out of touch, Im not quite done but it's sounding quite good, and very different to my usual.

Anyway that's not why I started this thread. Reason I started this thread is coz I'm looking for the acapella. Now I may be asking for something damn near impossible, but I know it's out there somewhere, someone has it.
So if you have it or know of a place I can find it please swing that through to me.......... you welcome to search with me too ;D

Peace.
P.S: I'm upping the beat so you can hear where it is so far.

Drums are very intense and intimidating. Theres a synth that comes in at 36 seconds that comes in very harsh. Then it gets a bit chaotic around the 58 second mark.

Other than that.. If you polish it up, you might have a winner on your hands.

Thanx. I'll have a look at that when I can a decent system. Right now I'm just tryna see what I can do to make it more exciting.

With the drums, are they TOO instense?

Drums are perfect. I'm sure everything will sound dope once you've finished and mixed it.

In my opinion, yo drums are not intense but rather dont yo kick dont bang or is not what I presume as heavy...its too light... try putting maybe an 808 BD layer with it and see if that makes a difference. and try eq yo sample so that the highs can be just under 650hz with consideration to what Nyambz said about the irritating synth...

Google 808 drums... most of south side sounds have that boom sound...and if properly layered, you'll have that sound boosting yo soft kick... as for the snare, reduce the reverb a tat only...

808's are eighties drum kits developed in the early 80's. Roland created the 1st with its TR-808 drum machine, with several other clone drum samplers following suit. The kicks drums are very deep (sub ba** type of sound sound). Timbaland and a span of electronica musicians use em alot.

i think Kanyewest used The TR 808 on every track on his new album.

It looks so boring though. :-\
No flashy looking buttons and knobs. just a turquoise box with black knobs.

May look boring.. But its an important piece of music history. Programmable drum machines such as this played a huge part in shaping Hip Hop production. Just thinking about it makes me want to play some old Ghetto Boyz or Scarface ish.
