No this thread has fukkol to do with Young Jeezy.

I just read a very interesting story about some dudes who used to be in the music biz. Basically it indicated that the Recession is very real. So... Im a**uming many more stories like this will come thru in the next few months/years.. So go head and post your recession related stories here...

And 3 members of Soul 4 Real have been indicted on 145 counts of Aggravated Identity Fraud
.  WTF??  I don’t know who’s who anymore but Duluth, GA police say that Brian Dalyimple’s brothers (and fellow group members), Jason Dalyrimple and Andre Dalyrimple will all be indicted.

33 year old Brian was arrested on suspicion of identity fraud earlier this month after somebody reported $12 g’s thanks to fraudulent purchases.  According to the PD:

“[We also found] a multitude of fraudulently obtained credit cards,” said Major Woodruff of Duluth PD, “documents for bank loans, checking and savings accounts in fraudulent names, account and routing numbers belonging to legitimate accounts and documents containing identifying information of many individuals.”

They just needed some candy coated raindrops to get them through the day.  This recession is getting real real for these 90’s stars. © YBF

Method Man is struggling right now, just like everybody else. The tax man just payed him a visit and took his Navigator as payment:

The tax man paid an early morning (6am!) visit to Method Man and repo’d his 2008 Lincoln Navigator for $52,000.00 in unpaid income tax.

Damn, all you kids trying to get into Hip-Hop should take notice. This guy was one of the hottest artists in the 90’s, now look at him. Good luck Meth, we are rooting for you.

Producer Scott Storch has been arrested for grand theft auto in Miami for violating the lease terms of a 2004 Bentley. The troubled entertainer posted bail shortly after he was apprehended. Storch was arrested on Friday after authorities maintained he failed to return the Bentley when it was supposed to go back to the owner in 2008. He started leasing the pricey vehicle in February of 2006, according to MTV News.

Atlas Leasing Company charges that the producer has caused them to lose about $65,000 in monies, because Storch had not turned over the car. He hadn’t been paying on it either, they a**ert. This is the latest in a series of financial woes for the producer who has been besieged with matters ranging from $500,000 in back taxes to delinquent child support to foreclosure on a $10 million mansion. Storch was unavailable for comment and no court date has been announced at press time.

Mandla All Blinged Out - Millionaire to nillionaire
10 May 2009
Theo Nyhaba

big spenders: Mandla Mthembu and his flamboyant actress wife Khanyi Mbau seem to have frittered away all their lucre

‘They’d buy anything just to prove a point’

Everyone loves a rags-to-riches tale – but a riches-to-rags drama is even juicier skinner fodder.

Self-proclaimed millionaire Mandla Mthembu and his flamboyant actress-wife Khanyi Mbau might find themselves homeless.

This is after the couple were kicked out of the elegant Raphael Penthouse complex in Sandton, Jozi.

Sources close to the pair say things have not been rosy for Mthembu lately.

The couple was apparently told to leave their suite last week Thursday. And it is believed Mthembu’s belongings are locked inside their penthouse until they pay.

A source close to the couple says the Mthembus were paying R100000 a month rent for a fully furnished suite fitted with a plasma screen and DStv, a Jacuzzi, splash pool, a dining table that seated more than 20 people, five bedrooms, high speed Internet access, en-suite bathrooms, centrally controlled air-conditioners and a Sandton view to die for.

The source says they

owe close to R400000 after defaulting on their rent payments for three months.

According to another independent source close to the couple, the down-market Formula 1 hotel is the only place they call home at the moment.

“Those people are very careless with their money. They’d buy anything just to prove a point,” says the source.

Sunday World has also learnt that the Mthembu’s navy blue Porche 911 Carrera has been repossessed.

Mthembu denies that they have been kicked out. He says they have moved to a house in Morningside, which is near Sandton.

“There is nothing like that (being evicted). We have moved to a house because I need to play with my daughter on a lawn,” says Mthembu.

Another source says other residents and guests at Raphael were also complaining, especially when Mthembu beat up his wife.

“Khanyi screams dramatically and she would often run downstairs, where everyone was, when Mandla hit her,” says the source.

It does not end there. About a week ago Mbau walked out of a salon where she had done her expensive hair weaves without paying.

According to the source, Mbau told the salon owner she was going to the ATM, but returned only a week later to pay.

The source says for a businessman, Mthembu is always at home and never goes to the office.

“Even richer guys than him go to work. If he is not at a restaurant, he’s sitting at home,” says the source.

When Sunday World contacted Raphael Penthouse, a lady who asked not to be named confirmed that the couple had moved out.

“They don’t stay here anymore,” she said.

Mbau refused to comment when we called her.

Early this week our sister paper Sowetan reported that a warrant of arrest had been issued against Mthembu for owing R78000 in outstanding traffic fines.

I see no one has mentioned any SA artists that were living large and are now broke!!  Our artists live near the poverty line .. so recession or no recession, we stay struggling..

PS:we must remember that some of these overseas artists have been getting bankrupt and having their ish repossed without there being a recession ... remember Toni Braxton?..Scott Scorch also got broke when there was no recession ... I guess he happy now that many people have joined the disgraced crowd - he can hide behind the economy now... ... one advantage of this whole debacle is that we might see a drop on BALLIN' songs ... dudes might even go back to wearing one chain at a time again! and on grills, one gold tooth will do, South African style!
