f*** 'em all. Why people like to lie to themselves and say that there are only a few white racists in SA that spoil it for the rest of them, is like saying just because shit comes out of the a**, it doesnt always have to smell.

I personally wish the government tightens the noose on these f***ers so that they can all leave and go to this 'heaven' that exists outside of our borders.

Stop fooling yourselves. Just because they smile at you and tolerate you because you speak english in an accent that they feel is acceptable doesnt mean they think any higher of you.

There are white racists in South Africa. No one is arguing about that.

However, there is no evidence that racist white South Africans are behind the Semenya debacle.

Im not sure if you dont understand how hard it is to prove that someone is being racist.

If something can't be proved, how do we know it's there?

Do you have evidence of any kind that the IAAF is implementing racist policies that undermine black people?

For example, if you could show me that the IAAF had investigated a disproportionate number of black athletes then I'd be down. If you could show that disproportionately high sanctions had been given to black athletes, I'd also be down. If you could show me anything to point towards a racist agenda, I'd be the first to join in with a big f*** You to the IAAF.

Again I cannot prove it D but i can tell you i have a whole lot of daily experiences to recognise subtle racism. Im not saying this was instigated by the IAAF. Having a black  representative to make shit look like it has nothing to do with discrimination has been done so many times D.

I'm not saying that the IAAF can't be racist because they have a black President, I'm just asking to see some evidence of institutionalised racism beyond the fact that Semenya is having her gender questioned. If there is no evidence, what are we supposed to do?

I just read that this issue became public because there was a leak from the lab where Semenya's gender testing was being done. You could argue that there is a racist agenda at the lab, but I still don't see what the IAAF has done wrong. Once the issue became public, what could they do?

Half the people on this board think Semenya looks like a man. She's been questioned about her gender in South Africa by other black people all her life - are they all racists who don't understand a non-western paradigm of beauty?

Let's not talk shit about concepts of beauty etc, she looks like a he-ra. Even if Julius says she is "cuddly" or whatever.

Should we then subject her to public humiliation? No.  If this is cleared up will I be happy? Yes.  As a South African? Yes. Can I honestly as a patriot etc say that I don't see at all why she would have been questioned over her sex? I could lie and get all racist/ nationalist and shit but deep down I know why people would want to know.  Does it hurt? Yes and I'm sure it hurts her even worse, and I hope she sues the shit out of someone if all is well.  The federations f***ed this one up royally, now everyone is jumping on the race card like the world doesn't LOVE black African athletes..... I am not denying shitloads of white racism in SA, I work in that field every day and have seen shit that would make you want to pick up a gun. I am denying the link between that and Caster's testing though. Crying wolf ito racism makes it difficult for actual victims, and I personally want to be fully shocked when I hear someone had bananas shoved in their locker, got spat on by their supervisor or slapped and called heinous shit.

we should all do this. people just have to figure out what it is they find important, and then act towards it. i personally don't think any of the for or against ideas expressed in this thread are so important as to not be dismissable when considering how and what you want to contribute to your community.

as i asked earlier, what does a non-racialist want? what does what they want have in common with someone who believes black people are persecuted?

i am deliberately ignoring the topic. to me this is just one of so many AG discussions on the relevance and role of race in SA; the words "Semenya" and "gender" in the title are just a formality.

Since the inception of gender testing, 8 women have been tested. Out of these 8, six were white. Where was the indignation and cries of racism then? Obviously the IAAF have something against white people, cos they have tested 3 times as many white women as black.

Actually, don't you think less people would have known if we didn't make such a big fuss and all our politicians and internet forum dwellers weren't so quick to yell "racism"?

The last incident I know of was three years ago, when an Indian woman was stripped of her medal. Semenya has already heard that she will be allowed to keep her title and medal, regardless. I think the Indian woman had more reason to put up a fuss.

Just to derail the thread slightly... anyone catch the 7pm e-tv news? That guy from the equit commisiion or some shiat like that, was talking about racism or inequality in the business sector or summin, and then he randomly tossed in a statement something like "..it's racism, just like with Semanya..."
and I was like dooooooood, wtf has Semanya got to do with the number of non-whites in top business positions?
