Yeah,,, it's the same old distribution issue. If a shop is out, ask them to order more otherwise they a**ume that nobody wants the CD and they don't bother re-ordering.

R180k is pretty generous. You can do a lot with that if it's used wisely. It's hard for me to comment on whether you should sign the deal without knowing the full terms - ie. what do they want in return? for their investment (what percentage of sales and licensing do you get? do they take a cut of your show and merch money? how many albums do you have to sign on for? etc)

If a record label is putting up R180k, they must be very sure they can sell at least 10,000 units. To reach that level of sales you would be up there with HHP in terms of popularity, which is not easy. I haven't heard your music so I don't know what kind of thing you do, but it would have to be extremely commercial.
