I already spoke to my connect at Vodacom.

They plan to have it in SA within the following two months.

None of you nerds mentioned the user experience either. Apple is always way ahead.

no time to research but from what I see, hardware is similar.
symbian got dropped, trusted it more thatn Windows Mobile, linux & google OS phones on the same ish.
The only contender is the MacOS Unix purebred Kernel which I believe is what makes the iphone still hol on to sumn....

The magic is a great phone. I can't decide which is better between that and the Touch Pro 2.

HTC is killing the smart phone crowd at the moment.

The magic is a great phone. I can't decide which is better between that and the Touch Pro 2.

HTC is killing the smart phone crowd at the moment.

My pros for this over the n900 are:
- Price - won't have to get on that sugarwater & beans & rice diet to afford it.
- Form - Nokia is significantly bigger than the magic/ myTouch
- Intergration - This is already available on the network I use so they have tailored their data & voice offerings to it.

Cons:
- App Memory - Only 512MB of internal phone memory on which to store apps. It doesn't let you store apps on the memory card.
- No 3.5mm headphone jack - Have to use a headphone adapter to connect to my shure SE115 earbuds.
- No attachment support for Outlook POP email. So you have to save then open attachments recieved from MS Outlook in a 3rd party app.

Not really dealbreakers but enough to make me pause/ procrastinate...

HTC Touch Pro 2 vs myTouch 3G:

The only place where I see the Magic really having an edge over the TP2 is the OS. Windows Mobile is rubbish.

On all other fronts it is inferior. I also don't like the fact that it uses google maps for its GPS, since that is kinda shitty when living in SA. then you still have to buy a third party GPS navigation system.
I believe the TP2 has all that sorted already.

damn phones I'm strongly considering an eee Pc

The only eee PC worth getting is the 901. And for that price, you might as well get an Acer One or Fujitsu Amilo Mini. They are cheaper, same specs, come shipped with Linux or Windows (go with the Linux model. It boots in less than 20 seconds and runs much faster) and is available in a range of colours.

Wanna buy my Fujitsu Siemens? I'll even fill up the HDD with pron for you. I wanna get something bigger.

This week in Nokia N900 Stannery:

Nokia N900 runs SNES games! :o :o  :o

http://noknok.tv/2009/10/01/nokia-n900-runs-snes-games/

Quote
...video has appeared with the Maemo 5 OS, which powers the Nokia N900, running the SNES emulator seamlessly. This means you can now play cla**ic games like Super Mario World, Final Fantasy 3, and Super Mario Cart where ever you are.

What’s more, if like us, you were a bit of a SNES junky back in the day, you can plug the Nokia N900 into your television set and play the games in their full original glory thanks to the Nokia N900’s TV Out connectivity. Additionally, the Nokia N900 SNES emulator also supports the addition of a Wii control, which means you aren’t just confined to using the Nokia N900 key pad as controls.

Again, we think this is a wonderful addition to the Nokia N900, and something all gaming enthusiasts will enjoy. We always dreamt about having a portable SNES when we were younger, looks like that’s a reality now.

F it. back to that beans & rice diet.
