There's a difference between beef nowadays and beef in the era of Buzy B/Kool Moe or KRS/Shan.
Then, it was spontaneous and healthy rivalry which helped elevate the art. Now, it is a cheap gimmick, carefully orchestrated to create publicity before dropping an album and does nothing for the art but make us look like a bunch of ignorant monkeys arguing over who is the sexiest or has the best bling or whatever.
It's become about simple attention-whoring. If they have issues with each other, organise a live battle. Go at each other and the loser walks away. If they can't do that, beat each other's a**es and get it over with.
