globalisation is basically when countries open their markets in order to make trading easier between them.when coca cola can enter any country and sell its product...in a nutshell.

Globalisation is the denationalisation of politics, economics and legal systems of emerging countries... the creation of the so called global village.
but in reality it is the Westernisation of emerging markets, the opening of economies and changing of policies and laws to suit the needs of western multinational corporations at the expense of local business (big example: Privatisation- it is an idea from the west that says private business runs more efficiently than public(government) owned enterprises, so third world govts must privatise to run more efficiently. But it is evident through the failures of the west that private comanies aren´t more efficient eg.:- the current spate of underground railway problems in london and the Huge power cut on the east coast of North america recently) .

it is ultimately the process through which the third world is robbed of identity and the right to actively pursue its own destiny

globalisation is a consequence of capitalism which creates poverty as a biproduct. If there´s a winner then there´s a looser,it stems also from natural selection, survival of the fittest becomes survival of the richest.Third world economies have to work together in order to survive...the concept is still the same ,survival of the fittest  :-o

I agree with all that you´ve pointed out. EXCEPT, privatised vs govt owned. I don´t think that is quite correct to say that govt owned instituions are run more efficiently, talking from experience with such and I will not comment further on that. But, on a layman level, just try dealing with a gov official at the front desk of a gov enterprise as to someone at the front desk of a priv and see the difference; in most cases than others the latter would be better treatment, and that is where the transcation begins really.

Yeah T, most govts are dumb as f***, but the IMF/World Bank says the way to rectify this problem is to sell govt to the private sector instead of making govt better. Its true most companies are run more effiecntly than govt. but thats due to competition, look at any monopoly and see how effiecntly it is run (telkom, eskom etc.), its difficult to explain the arguments for and agianst privatisation without going into detail.

Capitalism doesn´t create poverty as a byproduct, capitalism requires a poor working cla** to acheive its goals (the unhindered pursuit of profit), poverty is not the exhuast fumes of capitalism but the petrol in its tanks

Globalisation means every product is produced where it can be made the cheapest, that´s why france during the 80´s and early 90´s were quick to start up airplane manufacturing, so to compete with the US who have the biggest airplane industry up in washington state (seattle supersonics?!?), it was frowned upon by the states then, because the US wanted to be the only one´s with the right´s to make planes, (cause if you already have the industry established after the markets open, you´re good to go, right?), take malaysia, for instance, biggest export is rice, they started their own car industry not to long ago, in order to make for jobs, not have to import vehicles anymore, and trying to establish themselves b4 globalisation kick in, (cause if you already have the industry established after the markets open, you´re good to go, right?) Malaysia was frowned upon from all other car producing countries, who would hypocritically acuse Malaysia of contributing to Global Warming and shit, where Malaysia, were just trying not to get swollowed whole by the western world, the way the worlds economics are now, globalisation is inevitable, for we no longer control the money it controls us, so the rich are going to stay getting richer off their cars and shit, while the poor stay poor off of rice and coffee, this shit will only stop with a f***ing Riiot! so let´s get the party started, know your NME
