Zubz vid banned from SABC & Channel O???

Sons and Daughters of the soil, it seems that the more things change, the more they stay the same...

It has come to our attention that the SABC are not playing Zubz's new video, 'Get Out' because someone, apparently, allegedly, blykbaar went to the BCCSA and complained about it. Then it would appear that our other music channel, Channel O have also stopped playing the video for some unknown reason?

We wonder whether it's the panga and the AK47 which struck the nerve or the words Zubz delivered on the track which struck like a Panga or AK47, either way, we would like to hear from you.

Please write on the wall if you support the video and think that some entities and people are being overly sensitive and oppressors or send messages to the group.These comments may be used to illustrate just how distorted things really are.

Bondizzo, the 'leaders' are f***ing up (see here: http://africasgateway.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=21295 for one example) Music is one way of sorting things out, so for SABC and Channel O to ban one of the most relevant artists in African history is nothing short of criminal.

^bondizzo. there are a lot of people and young people who look up to people who get away with murder quite honestly. there are alot of artists who use their public platform for nonsense. yes the song touches on some touchy points but like there are people who've done worse. and they were awarded with hits.

what are the details here. the proper details. before we prepare to launch missiles. whats the story. has rage released any kind of statement. how about those in the know. labelmates. nthabi do you know.

does anyone know these broadcaster's regulations? does anyone know which lyrics or imagery they are objecting to and why?

i guess at the end of the day it's going to come down to the interpretation of these guidelines by a couple of people.

i thought the video was trash.
so id ban it jus because its a kak vid and a whack a** track!
but,thats jus my opinion....

to be fair, i hope zubz fights back and wins cos this may be an attack at hiphop in general. i wud be in the process of doing a new version of the video right now with clear attack back at censorship in the new video!
its OK when an ethnic artist uses the same type of imagery, but when a hiphop artist does it.....its suddenly a problem?

as you all know im the type of dude who enjoys the freedom to say and do whatever the f*** i want. so i will fight for everyone else who feels the same about freedom of expression!

to Zubz, this could be a great time for you to make history and do a joint wit dem Crack Boys! lets start a campaign!

If Zubz's video has infact been banned, the whole hip hop community should be outraged. Everyday, SABC and Channel O bombard us wit videos that potray flagrant untruths. We should all take collective action if the allegations are true. We could write a collective letter that we can send to the SABC Board and other newspapers.
This is no time for being petty and stupid, we need unity, regardless of wut we might feel about Zubz's music or video.

YOu know what, come to think of it D is right. We need the facts first - although having said that, I firmly believe the banning of any music, unless it is explicitly hate speech (which Get Out! is not) is abominable.
