Allez Rob1!! ;D :o He, He Nah earlier, I was asking are you joking, or just kidding about not feeling french hip-hop? There have been some amazing albums to come out of France! A lof of REALLY good albums in the nineties, there was a point in '94-'95 where i felt france was on a level with NY, The culture thrives there! Great Graff! Great Bboys, great DJ's! I must convince you otherwise robbie!  ;D

Oh don't get me wrong, they're dope. I just don't feel a lot of the shit that's come out. It's good music, just not always the kind of thing I enjoy listening to. And believe me, I've been listening to a buttload of French rap lately, including a lot of the old school stuff (I.A.M, Supreme N.T.M, Democrate D etc.)

Like I said, I'd much rather bump Czech, German, Dutch or even Russian rap. I don't know. I studied French for five years and will never knock the language, but it's just not my thing.

Still, feel free to convince away!

I still feel the same way. I think France would be number 2 for the country
with the biggest Hip Hop scene. For some reason, the French stuff is more
authentic than the US stuff because the US has fallen to commerical crap
(not saying that there isn't a commerial scene in France). It just seems that
the French, along with many other nations take it to heart, the b-boying,
the MCing, Graffing, and DJing.

Okay gang, for those who don't know, there is a slang in France called Verlan, a lot of the rappers flip it in Verlan (l'envers) from time to time,... (literally),..

Wiki explains:

"Verlan is an argot in the French language, featuring inversion of syllables in a word, and is common in slang and youth language. It rests on a long French tradition of transposing syllables of individual words to create slang words. The name verlan itself is an example: it is derived from inverting the syllables in l'envers ("the inverse," pronounced lan-ver)."

So take for example, Mafia K'1 Fry = Mafia 1 Fry K = Mafia Africain (African Mafia)

ok, and with that out the way, here some more fire...

NTM - Pa** Pa** Le Oinj

NTM & Nas - Chacun Sa Mafia

NTM - Tout N'est Pas Si Facile

For those that don't know NTM stands for "Nique Ta Mêre", which means "f*** Your Mother", and they started out as a graffiti crew from St. Denis (biggest ghetto of Paris), they still have bombings along the autoroute, and even Mode2 used to be in the crew! They are crazy legit!

I bought some of their gear 5 years ago. It's too bad Mafia K 1 Fry and
African Armure parted ways as separate clothing lables.
