Thats some shit. VirginPussy mentioned this on the poets thread.

What a cool character. He seemed like he was enjoying life. He was so happy when I saw him on Saturday, singing "wave your flag on the street" lol

R.I.P King Daniel. You will be missed bra.

The last time I saw Bongs was at Back to the City.
He was looking the happiest and healthiest I had seen him since 2005.
I just don't understand this life man.
I don't wish for anyone to die such a lonely death.

R.I.P KIng Daniel.

RIP KING Daniel...
I have a picture of him chilling at the window at Lola's, busy on his laptop looking all fly and shit. I will miss the warm hugs he use to give me.

King Dan...eish. Cat was very strange. He came to the studio one day, dropped his album Primitive Derivatives then left without saying much. He seemed to be looking forward to getting back into the thick of things after being relegated to the periphery of Cape Town hip-hop.

It was always sad for me to see him not 'progressing' in the same way that his contemporaries were. Most of the members of the original Fifth Floor are holding down steady jobs, becoming family men and generally improving their life.

Whenever I got a chance to speak to him, he was always frustrated that some of the 'newer generation' of headz was getting more recognition than he. "I've paid my dues. All you new cats still need to pay your dues.", I remember him saying one night.

I bet now everyone is going to be chanting his name at their performances and talking about how much of a legend he was when none of us did anything when we saw that dude needed some help. When was the last time some of us even thought about him? Listened to a track of his?

EISH..let me not say any more.

Please listen to Bush Radio 89.5fm this friday where we will be inviting calls from anyone who wants to talk about King Dan. The number is 0214485450. Show starts at 22h00 and ends at 00h00.
I put Religion, Opression and Weakness underground and when i looked down i felt myself begin to GROW.

I came across this Note on Facebook; Penned by Sivu Nobongoza

"Remember that guy who always got under your skin, whether it made your skin crawl or because he had away of making you boil. Do you remember the boy who fought you in the primary school playground, because he insisted you were staring his way in racial contempt? Remember the boy who laughed at you riddling at the blessed dot that sat charmingly between his eyes. Remember the boy who started an accapella band, so he could bring friends together who often didn't belive they in themselves. Remember the boy who harra**ed the highest goverment officials, andf no matter how hot the were on his tail he always managed to stay a step ahead long enough for them to give in.Remember the guy who got up on stage, slayed MC, and brought rappers and floets to their knees. Remember the guy who lit a match at the club, not to light a cigarette, but because the bouncer told him he'd smash his face in. Remember the guy who wrote a song about the souls going to a special place, whilst damning all the tragedies of the world. Remember the guy who had a girlfriend before boys were even interested in girls. Remember the boy who took you home for weekends and introduced you to Marvin Gaye, Isaac Hayes, Ray charles and Etta James. Remember the guy who stood up to the school bully, and though he couldn't fight came back everyday to tell him that no matter how many times he got beat he still wouldn't be afraid of him. Remember the boy you beat up getting drunk because he stole your mom's car, threatened your sister and distrespected your friends... in your apartment. Remmber the guy who stood for what he belive in no matter how sinister it may have seemed to you. Remember the guy who callled you up on the holiday's took you on an afternoon drive to the hill, then to the ocean, and opened you up to his dreams. Remember him, because for reasons we cannot fathom he lived his life the best way he knew how.We may have loved him or hated him, but through it all he always managed to be and prevailed in being. I will never forget, because though I am often shaken, he showed me what it means to have real strength... he proclamed Defiance all his life and even when they mocked his dot. He shined
