Anybody ever seen this?

There are seems to be a couple of versions of the film. Last night I watched the american edited version which the makers of the film have disowned. As racist as I think the film is, these motherf***ers are got some of really hectic footage what was happening during the time when some of the African countries got independence.

I plan to watch the original version before I critisize the directors too much. I think this is the original version.

I must say it paints Africans in a really bad light white the whites are shown predominantly to be victims. I recommend that you watch it either way.

Since this film is racist and the directors were Italian, someone should create a revenge film of
how Italy invaded Ethiopia in 1935 and abused the Ethiopians.......and the film should be made
by ETHIOPIANS!!!! HA!

Talking about Ethiopia. Since Rasta's seem to know a lot and are seem to be lovers of knowledge and all that. How come they seem to now know how bad Haille Sella**i was? This puzzles me. Do they not know or do they choose to ignore?

Thants for the link I will check it out.

Interesting I did a quick search on Amazon.com and this film got 5 star ratings there (one from an african-american nogal) but on wikipedia it's clear that the film was always considered racist even in western Europe from the time it was released.

Quote
Controversies surrounding the film

In West Germany, a protest movement against the film emerged after "Africa Addio" was awarded by the state-controlled movie rating board ("Filmbewertungsstelle Wiesbaden"). The protest was chiefly organized by the Socialist German Student Union (SDS) and groups of African students. In West Berlin, the distributor resigned from showing the film after a series of demonstrations and damages to cinemas. Today, the protests against "Africa Addio" are regarded as being the first anti-racist movement in German history.[6]

The film has been banned as racist in Italy.[citation needed]

Co-Director Gualtiero Jacopetti was accused of murder and tried in Italy due to accusations that one of the executions which appears in the film was staged for the camera. He was acquitted.[7]

The film has had accusations that parts of it were staged or even "created" leveled against it from various critics over the years. The directors deny this, claiming in the documentary about their work "The Godfathers of Mondo" that the only scenes they ever staged were in Mondo Cane 2.

About the Rasta thing, it's kinda sad how they don't really admit the problems of Africa. In their religion, they beleive that Africa is Heaven and that the rest of the world is Hell (Babylon). Their views on homosexuality are very ancient and they seem to hate gays more than any religion!!
