Destructive lifestyles by the youth

What gives...

First of all, i drink alcohol, and i smoke cigarrettes.. I only drink on Fridays and Saturdays.. Sundays i rest, and during the week its work, school, business and gym..

I have noticed a negative trend amongst us as youth, and more specifically black youth, of leading very destructive lifestyles.. And its a very concerning for me... Addictive substances seem to be a norm amongst us..

i have two friends, one a very intelligent dude, who share a flat, and on average they ma**acre at least a tray of black label dumpies a day.. thats 24 dumpies of beer, everyday... The one dude only comes out of his shell after a few.. he is quiet, to the point of being unnoticable when he is sober, but when he's had a few, YHO!!!

Luckily, friends like that are at a minimum for me, im lucky enough to be blessed with focused , driven people as friends..


What inspired this thread for me though was not my friends as such, but the lifestyles lead by youth in general...
How many of you here drink on a daily basis? babalas monday?something something tuesday? ladies night wednesday? phuza thursday? and of course, the normal resumption of service friday and saturday!!! and theres a something something on sundays as well...

Then, theres also the small issue of drug use(abuse??)... Weed smoking, cocaine, acid etc.. how many of you get blunted daily? and how many of u use so called hard-drugs on weekends?

and just as a side debate, how is Cannibis good for a person? How many people do you know who are perpetually high on some drug or another?

Now my question  is, why are we so addicted to these destructive lifestyles? Black people in general seem to live for drugs and alcohol..

And theres also the small issue of sex... im not talking abt having it, im talking about the people who still have it without using protection!! i know this might amaze some of you, and embara** most, but its actually amazing the number of young, professional and mostly educated people who STILL dont use condoms, or who use them SOMETIMES(like they can see how got deases and shit by just lookin at them).. and generally, the ones who use condoms sometimes dont use them when they with hot, "clean looking" girls, or girls they meet at these up-market do's.. like girls who drive dope cars and wear expensive clothes are somehow immune to this shit...

anyway, im hoping to start a debate by this post, so comment away...

sunday is stay indoors count the money you wasted day and Vow never to give random bitches money coz you were drunk and thought going to Gold Reef Casino is a good idea, you end up being on a r10 a chip table on a row from starting off with R100 worth of chips you got 9 R100 chips and the pit bosses looking at you like you cheating yet all you doing in letting the Gin And Juice do the betting i gave bitches r100 chips like 5 , won them all back...I kid you not from R100 i started off with I left with about a thousand Rand excluding the money I wasted throwing it in the air till i got kicked out

Everyday drinking aint right, in Pretoria I won't like I was on that tip, i lived next door to a back packer place
there were ALWAYS new tourist daily most looking for black dick!

most pot heads I know smoke first thing in the morn, lunch time and before bed, I can't handle spending the whole day high...but those that can, they do and most look normal.

unless i am going for the jugula beer first thing in the morning is a nono...if i drink on Friday till early morn i will sleep till atleast 12..

as for hard drugs i know crackheds that aint sleep in a week sucking dick for a fix! f*** THAT!

Well, I know some cats who knock out at least 3 bottles of whisky and a coupla beers daily, and these cats are progressive people in that they are educated and hold big positions in their companies and the fact that they drink excessively does not seem to hinder their progress in that they wake everyday and do what they need to do no stress...and wouldnt take kindly to anyone failing to report for duty because of babalaaz.

To someone looking from ouside in, this might look like destructive behaviour, but contraty its just a lifestyle choice. This may vary from person to person in terms of substance of choice and the degree to which it effects their everyday functioning. In my view the use of drugs and alcohol is only destructive if it starts effecting your progress wether in your work, school, relationships etc.

In tertiary, as many of us have, I  ma**acred many a case and experimented with a few drugs too...Nothing wrong with that, its youth and its supposed to be that way, at some point you ougrow that kind of behaviour and as I said...Its only destructive only once it starts f***ing with your life.

As for wreckless sexual behaviour...That's just stupidity...

My drug experiment days was 1 pill of X and thats it ...

i do (at times) think that it is a problem, like yesterday, it was my day off. i chilled at the spot and mayn, i smoked a whole pack of swazi (r10 skuif) in a day. usually i'd do this in 3 days or so, but i wasted that ish in a few hours and this morning had to go reload before i went on my way to this shit hole i work. but tell u what, i was still able to do my chores and still spare me some time to give it to her in all angles.

i hear stories of peeps saying them can't perform due to excessive drug use....THANX GOD i don't use drugs, i only do the SPLIFF......
or maybe they just bonning sum unsexy chicks.

Except maybe an occasional quart or two during the week, I go all out during weekends from friday afternoon untill sunday evening I'm guzzling quarts like a mother and aint never been called for a disciplinary hearing at work so it depends on what are your priorities in the first place fcuking up your career or going to work so that you can be able to sustain your beer and weed smoking habits that's what get me outta bed every morning
