A permanent position exits at our Head office in Sandton for a Senior Account Manager within the Forestry and Wood Products SBU reporting to the SBU Head Forestry and Wood Products
Key functions of the position include:
-Developing and maintaining client relationships
-Evaluation of more complex applications for finance
-Evaluate and structure equity and empowerment transactions
-Negotiate position in equity and empowerment transactions and negotiate final transaction documents.
-a**isting the SBU Head in, decision making, business and strategy development and SBU Administration
-Quality control, monitoring the investigations done by more junior staff
-Mentoring and acting as coach to Account Managers and Business Analysts
-Involvement in project initiation and project development
Candidates must have a CA (SA) or B Eng degree with MBA/MBL
Candidates must have at least 5 years Deal Making experience
Candidates must have experience in project initiation and project development
The ideal candidate will have the following competencies:
Ability
* ability to lead and co-ordinate complex due diligences
* ability to competently and independently evaluate deals in three disciplines
* ability to pro actively market and source deals
* conduct peer review on at least 2 disciplines
* must be able to lead a team in strategy implementation
* a**ist the SBU Head in Strategy development
* act as mentor to Account Managers and Business Analysts on at least 2 disciplines
* ability to develop and maintain client relationships and network with key role players in the Forestry and Wood products industry
Experience
* must have an Engineering degree with a MBA/MBL or be a qualified CA(SA)
* extensive proven experience in the sourcing of potential business opportunities and evaluation of the economic viability of business proposals
* 4-6 years deal making experience
Knowledge
* Detailed analysis of market environment
* Detailed understanding and application of financing instruments
* Detailed analysis and interpretation of financial statements

A permanent position exists within the SHIP SBU for a Senior Project Manager at the IDC Head office Sandton branch, reporting to the Head of SHIP SBU.
Key functions of the position include:
* Heading up a team which a**esses applications from sponsors and partners
* Involvement in early stages of project investigations, including identification and structuring
* Managing client relationships
* Representing IDC on steering committees and boards in implementation phase of projects
* Representing IDC on industry task teams and at industry seminars
Minimum requirements:
* BSc (Engineering, Chemistry or Agriculture)/BCom and MBA / MBL / CA(SA)
* Minimum 5 years project analysis experience
Experience
* Project analysis experience
* Exposure in putting together projects and should have worked on projects where you would have turned concepts into fundable projects, or worked from conceptual stage through to bankable stage
* Proven relevant project analysis experience
* Strong Due Diligence and Analytical Skills
Knowledge
* Understanding of industry markets and ability to undertake and interpret market research
* Detailed understanding of investigation studies and ability to evaluate project ideas
* Reasonable understanding and application of contract law and of labour law
* Sound grasp of technologies employed in industry projects, and the key success factors in implementation of these projects
