While I appreciate the catastrphric nature of the disaster in South East Asia & how we must ALL be concerned..I cant help but wonder if the media & world @ large would be giving it this much airtime if it was anywhere in Africa.
Millions of people die yearly of genocide etc here but you never hear a tenth of it on the news.

the irony of your question is that, there are African countries affected by this very Tsunami and they don´t get coverage in mainstream media (read US media)... the only people who seem to be seeking help for these African states are Africans themselves, while the rest of the "world" goes to the east...
