Is there a reason for so much swearing in hip hop and if there is a reason, what is it exactly. These days cats are even swearing in vernac and that sounds so much mo vulgar. :?  :?:

dont like it dont listen
hip hop is my refuge. I could crawl into the space between the lines and curl my back to reality-
the beat washes away from my soul the dust of everyday life-
Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent!

Well hiphop is about expressing your self so if you cant justify that then why do you even listen to it man sure its not all about swearing but thats just the way it is

I prefer cleaner tracks lyrically, where the person has more to say than the profanities. There are times when it works in the context of the song and leaving it out would have possibly crippled the song. But in most cases, I prefer hearing profanity free stuff.Just easier on the ear.Makes for better storytelling too........especially to the little kids.U know, Trick luv da kids.

Though I gotta admit 2Pac's Hit em up is one of my alltime fav songs and thats loaded with cussing especially at the end.U can just sense the anger. But thats, in a way, justified..........not that I agree with it, but knowing how that song came about, it makes sense in the context.

hey Ill

Nice Em quotes there.Remember me is a really nice one.I hear what u saying and I am cool with that, but just that I'd choose less profanity any which way, whether its on tv or music. Many times in movies, the profanity there is just unnecessary. Some times if used properly, can be unmatched in humor.
