this might get fun... is there really such thing as a hardcore strictly Hiphop-or-nothing-head out there... i mean really... coz it's a lotta these baggy a** mofos u meet around the way that act like they don't feel other shit until u catch them bumpin their heads to some Enya joint playin in the background...

Holla with the shit u'd most prob'ly get caught listening to when it's not Hiphop u're pumpin...

i kno wat u mean. i used to b like that. the way i saw it was me tryin to "keep it real". iuf ur beats werent on sum premo shit, im not even tryin to f*** wit u too much.but as maturity started to surface, i realised the consequencs of being closed minded n shallow.u wind up wit no respectable bitches. u get thes dirty skanks that dont wash their dreadlocks, smoke more weed than u n always manage to get drunk, even wen their broke n u the meal ticket but thats a whole nother argument on its own.

wen im kickin it @ the crib, im bumpin radiohead, santana, dj wildchild, ltj bukem, herbert, nirvana, prodigy, bjork etc. n i honestly dont mind jus kickin it @ a punk rock party or a house club or a dnb festival cos i enjoy the music. so maybe i am ur stereotypical nitwit rockin headphones n baggy jeans but bumpin philip tabane.hmmmm :? its actually quiet odd.

^^ damn now thats a whole lotta different stuff u tolerate right there...

i feel u on most (Rage Against The Machine, Sade, Jamiroquai, Amel larrieux... ect are all personal favs) though i'm not the one for that garage, electro blah blah deep house stuff... shit i dunno, somethin about them extreme electronic sounds that messes with my sober eardrums i'm more of an acoustic mofo

been bumpin ridiculous amounts of Jazz lately (old shit from the 60's n 50's especially)

i mean who can get more soulful than:
Billie Holiday
Nina Simone
Ella Fitzerald
Aretha Franklin
Miriam Makeba
Brenda fa**ie (some tracks)
Etta James
Louis Armstrong
Ray Charles
BB King
Tracy Chapman

otherwise can't front on:
Stevie Wonder ("what's the fuss??" check his new album)
James Brown
Bob Marley
Santana
The Beatles
Nickel Back
Green Day
System Of The Dawn
Nirvana
Kenny Kravitz

... ect

With you on all this but System of a Dawn  :?:  :? pretty sure thats System of a Down and Kenny Kravitz :?  :?:  surely you mean Lenny.......

But fo real, feelin Nina Simone and Billie Holiday in particular, also lotsa ol skool big band... Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, Count Basie, Glenn Miller........

Fo sho if you aint feelin evrything, to each their own, but bra you gotta realise every type of music you listen to has an electronic element, it is simply the natural evolution of our creativity.
As a musician, I started at the acoustic end, and I luv what I and any other musician can do acoustically, but technology allows me a whole other spectrum of creativity, I am unable to place acoustic over electronic, and vice versa, remember producers are musicians, and many are great musicians.

...to each their own...

i hear u but u pretty much summed it all up right ^^here...

i mean i used to dig all the Technotronic, Snap... ect back in the days, there's quite a few House tracks that i feel n even some of those Swizz Beatz's all synthesized up beats are dope but when shit gets all bra**y n "ravey" that's just about as far as i'll go... n that's why i think Common's Electric Circus is his lamest album yet, gimme Water For Chocolate anytime...
