The main driving factor was the fact that we could have ended up sitting on it for another 12 months. Duplication and distribution were just holding everything up. The project is no good to anyone if it's just sitting on my hard drive.
I'm a big believer in getting stuff out there at any cost. A project like the Drudge is not mainstream so it's not gonna sell 30,000 units. It's more for fans of something a bit different - you gotta let people have a little something for free if you want to build an audience.
Having said all that, we still need to get hard copies out there as not everyone can connect to the internet, especially to download 70Mb files.
