Snazzy, as she is affectionately known by her fans, was born in Tsumeb on the 19th October 1987. Like most professionally successful musicians, she started singing, writing poetry and lyrics at an infantile age. Over the years, she fell in love with Hip-Hop and has since made it her forte. She is currently in Grade 12 at Windhoek’s Technical High School, where in 2003 she managed to be amongst the top students by attaining 40 points for her Grade 10 external exams. She aims to fulfil her envisaged short-term and long-term objectives by the end of the year. That includes, releasing her debut album and getting it distributed internationally…

Stagga and Scar from Botswana had a Thursday date with the Cypha. The brothers didn’t pitch because they left Gabs City late. They arrived in Windhoek after 12am and by that time the Cypha freestyle session had come and gone, and Eraze was safely counting sheep in lala land…

Thursday, 9:40pm X-Rate and Mic-Kanix joined Eraze on the Cypha. The show was threatening to be the wackest ever with no emcee up in the studio. We were all happy when Eraze finally announced that he had some emcees up in the Studio. Then Mc Ekks rolled thru as well…The freestyles begin….And guess what X-Rate came to do…

The music was hot, the freestyles hotter, the first half of the freestyles only had MC Ekks, Militant and Katty Katt dropping words over a new beat right of the oven from the Black Market Stables. Kitty Katt came thru to drop his track “Reflection of a dope Emcee” which had Kannibal the leader of the Militant and Black Market in house producer, working his Fruityloops magic. The track is hot, the beat is mad……

You can find Namibia on the West Coast of Southern Africa, just above South Africa. Besides having dunes and gemsboks they also have fairly active Hip Hop scenes (Walvis Bay, Skwakopmund and Windhoek). One of the people providing a platform for Hip Hop in Windhoek is radio presenter/emcee Eraze. We wanted to find out more about him and the scene. Check the interview for the entire probe.
