‘THROW DOWN’ is celebration of independent acts that are doing very well for themselves and the show seeks to allow the platform for appreciation. These acts could be dj’s as well as performers. The headlining act for the month of August is Bhubesii who hails from Diepkloof Soweto and has the personality of a Jozi JUGGERNAUT.

Johannesburg, Gauteng, 27 July 2011 – Afrikaans rapper Dokte releases a new Hip Hop track called ‘Baas Mentalityt’ (translated as: “Boss Mentality”). Look out for ‘Baas Mentaliyt’ on his new upcoming album called “Die Afspraak”.

His skills have seen him provide the backdrop to TV documentaries and adverts with Godessa, Cellblock and the late Mr. Fat of Brasse Vannie Kaap and the late great Mr. Devious. With Hype magazine nominating him for best producer at their 2009 awards and Pioneer Unit making him their in-house producer in that same year Hipe is definitely the perfect beatsmith to prepare the canvas for you to paint your masterpiece on.

Coming from the M.F.U. (Mfuleni) townships in Cape Town near Khayelitsha, Massive Turn, also known as Massive Ten, is a hip hop crew determined to make serious moves in the SA hip hop scene.

While clearing out the attic we came across some old issues of the Mobshop magazine. The magazine was founded by Ferdinand Isaacs in the mid 90′s and was a South African hip hop orientated magazine. Distribution was tight in those days and only a few copies exist.
