The Namibian hip-hop scene continues to develop. Last week Friday saw Portuguese rapper The Scientist launch his new album “Tha Rules Of cience”.

The event was at the FNCC (Franco Namibia Cultural Center) in Windhoek and featured performances from, Female emcee Snazzy, Zero Degree, Rock and Jaycee, Angolan group G8, Blaze and a freestyle session from Genetik Audio Sexion (eraze and mc ekks).

The crowd was small but the energy was riveting, visuals showing projected on a screen at the back of the stage were provided by up coming Video editing high school genius’s “mad boy genius’ making the event and audio visual event and the Mc was Namibian hip hop veteran Fidel O’del. The year 2005 is already showing signs of being a very fruitful year for Namibian hip hop, with word on the street promising albums from the black markets stable, the release of the Cypha mix tape and the launch of Snazzy’s EP.

Keep yours open and watch out for the Namibian hip-hop, which promises to be on the same level as any other country.
